Diet

SUPERsmitty

^ yes thats me!
Hi there, I am 23 years old. I stand 5-8 inches tall and weigh about 200lbs. I am thinking about becoming and officer in the military but before I can I need to get down to at most 180lbs. I run and lift weight every day.

I was wondering if someone can recommend me a diet that could help me loose 20lbs in around four months.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
Look into the Atkins Diet. Low carb. I lost 10 lbs in 1 week on Atkins. I no longer eat a lot of junk food and foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup anymore as a result of Atkins.

interesting advice from all you health pro's so far.

I would start off by saying there is no such thing as a one-size fits all diet. Check with your doctor and/or a dietician first to find the best path suited to your body.
That being said, Cut junkfood or sodas if you eat any of that stuff and stick with white meats over red. Remember, the biggest misconception is thinking you lose weight by exercising! You burn fat through the foods you eat. Exercise and weight-training is just to maintain and enhance what you should have already accomplished through your diet. Finally, don't think of dieting as "temporarily starving" yourself. It's a lifetime commitment to moderate portions of high quality over quantity so good luck.
