The clip was uploaded onto the video-sharing website on Tuesday and has already attracted 1.25million hits, including 4,619 ‘likes’.
In the video Medvedev is seen dancing with friends at a university reunion last year oblivious to the camera recording his moves.
Medvedev, 45, has responded to the clip saying he was just having a good time but admitted his dance moves may be slightly stuck in the 90s.
A keen user of Twitter, the Russian president responded to some light-hearted banter about his dancing after user Stacey Uliss joked he danced like her father.
In response, Medvedev tweeted: ‘Age-wise that seems to be the case. We were partying at a meeting with [former] classmates a year ago. The dances/music are still those from the past.’
