Do you have an irrational fear?

STDiva

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
The ban hammer!

Seriously though, as a child I had triliffaphobia. The fear of not becoming stretch armstrong.

Getting hit by a train after falling/jumping on the tracks from the platform, I still to this day can't stand near the edge. Worse still I think rather than it being an accident I may just leap in front because the opportunity is there eventhough I don't really want to, although the sensation passes once the train has past me (when it's physically impossible to jump in front of it). Weird eh?

Frogs still creep me out and every time I get out of bed at night to take a piss or turn on the computer to look at porn I'm still afraid that a wet, decomposed hand will grab me.

Drowning - my first clear memory as a child was of someone holding me under water at the local pool. Then to make it worse I had the distinct pleasure of watching my brother drown when I was 11. Then when I was 13, one of my friends was driving a tractor, ran off the road and was pinned under the tractor in the canal and drowned.

When I was in my 20's I dated a Dutch girl from a tiny town called Ursem in North Holland. She was a lifeguard and a real strong swimmer. We were on vacation at a nude beach in what was then Yugoslavia and the cunt thought it would be fun to try to push me under the water. I've never been so close to killing someone in "self defense" in my life.

Rational - irrational - who the fuck cares - I don't like water!

Werewolves, mummies, and Republicans.

Those are all rational fears - try again.

Anaesthesia.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure how irrational this is given the circumstances most people find themselves in prior to having "gone under." But it freaks me out, so I choose to share it with you.

Do with it what you must.

I have.

But I sure won't share it on FreeOnes ;)

Somewhat irrational as only a select few number of spiders in this world could cause you harm. Rats carry infectious germs!;)
That'd be Irrational alright. ;)

I'm sure that we can all relate to pain in the form as described...
very rational, sir. :hatsoff:

Red stinging ants, rational!

Rational.
There's a poster in this thread that, quite frankly, scares the hell outta me! :shy:  :1orglaugh

Does she wear the pants in your marriage ......yet?
Very Rational!

Rational.... but only certain kinds of spiders, right? I bet that one of the few people who wouldn't be startled by one or more of these pests crawling on him is the poster who scares me in this thread, a nuisance pest himself. :p :1orglaugh :wave2:

:1orglaugh

thanks for the explanatory Fac. put me at ease sir ;) :hatsoff:

I have Triskaidekaphobia.

Then again, I have written a book about Arnold Schoenberg.

Carry on.

If you're writing about Schoenberg it's a good thing you don't have duodekaphobia. :1orglaugh
