Doctor Scams?

Why are you reading this?
You think it is ok to charge $110 for a follow up? That's sad and sick.

Yes, again it's your choice. Get the service or not.

Let me guess you are one of these assholes that thinks the healthcare industry in America is great. And that if people don't have insurance it is their fault.

By no means do I think the healthcare industry is great. It is very messed up, but that's not the doctor's fault. Mind you doctors go to college for 8+ years and accumulate tremendous student loan debt ($250,000+). They are under tremendous stress and deserve to get paid for their time and service.

I don't think the G-spot exists!
my eye doctor said I had an eye condition. He suggested I use warm compresses and over the counter stuff to clear it up.

The medical industry is raping us. We are at a point now where only those that can afford it get it. The people in the middle that actually work but don't get insurance due to the job not supplying it or them not be able to afford it are truly fucked.

Just go fuck yourself. Thats about all I have to say to you.

I'm secretly in love with Ron Jeremy!
Let's be honest here: your doctor is (and please don't take it personal) a bit too greedy. The $110 don't have ANYTHING to do with how the health system works. It's HIS office and HE makes the rules.
The reason he's going to give you for the cost is that he's taking "time" to see you during his work day and that if it was another patient, he would've also charged him the same way. He knows you don't have insurance and yet he doesn't care and makes you feel "guilty" or somehow responsible for taking up his precious time. Now that IS true but come on! It's totally not your fault that the treatment didn't work and I'm not even saying it's his. But it's a follow-up appointment, so he shouldn't charge you anything (at least I wouldn't).
If he really wanted to cash in on his time that day and still see you FREE-OF-CHARGE, he could've seen you outside office hours, eg. right after the last patient that day. It's done everywhere else, and it takes 15 min tops.
But anyway, you did the right thing by seeking advice somewhere else. I would've done the same. My advice to you now is to keep your cool if he contacts you to ask why you didn't go to the follow-up that day.
