"Doing Sex" vs. "Having Sex"

Recently I've been criticized for favoring the colloquial "doing sex" over the accepted "having sex", but my linguistic choice is not without foundation.

"Having sex with" implies a connection with the other beyond the mere physical, a joint effort for a shared result, generally mutual pleasure, where in my case where I'm most often renting a body in and on which to do my dirty business, more often than not, no such deeper connection exists.

Don't get me wrong, there is always a profound professional regard, but if a woman is watching T.V., say, or talking on the phone while you're engaged in the act in/on her body, is not the phrasing "doing sex to" the more accurate?

This makes as much sense as asking for a Hamburger sandwich.

I order hamburger sandwiches all the time! "Hamburger Sandwich" is technically correct!

going by the way you put it having sex is definitely more applicable to me most of the time but regardless the term "doing sex" simply doesn't ring right in my ears...

I just thought it implied that English is your second language.
