The military will fight tooth and nail against a draft. they don't want people in the service that don't want to be there and will do a half ass job over a volunteer who wants to be there and will give his all for the cause and his (or her) career.

Yep, that's all that matters. You know it's funny that most people
freak out about all the crazy shit you would do in a day, but you know most of the time you'll eat, sleep, or go home the same time
every day. Everything else durning the day is so you don't get
bord.

I dunno... I don't like to dis the service too much.

I mean... If you just look at your unit and not the people above your C/O... everything about the service is the fucking shit. It rocks. I was in a small unit though... so who knows what other people feel about it.

Eh... Ive never actually participated in anything long-term like Iraq. So I only know what friends tell me.

But yea... I can relate to that quote. But not just for the service... My civilian jobs have all been stupid too.
