I see it as far less complicated. From what I see, chicks do it for 1 of 2 reasons...

1. Some see it as sexy and/or prominently showing their lips as kissable.

2. Some do it as a lark.

As far as chicks sticking their tongues out...same thing as doing it as a lark. Not really different from chicks or people who middle finger in pics.

In terms of people making faces as a lark in pics....it's been done for years (crosseyed, pignose, etc.). Makes sense that it would increase when you consider the ease with which anyone can generate pics any time nowadays. Of course it wouldn't be as prevalent years ago when the average person had to pay for film rolls then pay/wait for them to be developed, etc.

I think it has a lot to do with Angelina Jolie. When she went through the roof with 'Tomb Raider', she was the epidemy of hotness. And she seemed to pout all the time - she just has those lips.



And, well, the point of trying to act like you do not care about looking ugly has a lot of truth, too. Girls growing up, crossing over to being a woman and being judged on their looks have a lot of insecurity issues, especially as all the women in magazines, TV, cinema and the almighty internet are photoshopped like no tomorrow.

So, well make a silly face and try to believe you do not care feeling ugly ducky.

I disagree completely. Some of the hottest chicks and models on planet do it. You not liking the look is a separate issue.

The look itself is a commonplace pose in modeling considered pouty or pukered lip. Maybe some of the models here can attest to it.

Most regular chicks do it in pics to either look alluring with the pose or mock looking alluring.

While there is something to be said for the, if you don't look your best in a pic at least be/look silly perspective. Most people who are insecure, self-conscious or otherwise are not friends of cameras. People like that tend to either avoid cameras/pics altogether or try and make sure they look their best for the limited amount of pics they are inclined to take.

As far as Colombian chicks.... I would probably refer you to some of what you may find in Latin American customs and etiquette and see what you find.:2 cents:

It doesn't translate to other cultures because in other cultures facial gestures and expressions may not be as trivial as they are in the US. Some facial expressions including pursing of the lips have customary uses and therefore wouldn't be easily transferable. In many Latin American countries pursing of the lips along with a full hand gesture is a way of pointing something out as in a this not that example.:2 cents:

It's a typical modeling pose widely mimicked and mocked nowadays...nothing more nothing less and most likely bears no reflection whatsoever on a girl's insecurity IMO.

There are plenty of girls with galleries on this site who have pics of themselves in the pose. I suppose if you gave them a chance to explain...it would have shit to do with insecurity. :1orglaugh
