Lookie what hubby got me for Vday!! I saw it on Etsy months ago and evidently he went ahead and bought it! I was going to do a steampunk Alex (from a clockwork orange) for the upcoming elf fantasy fair, but now I'm tempted to do straight steampunk.
A flip mat is a thin fold out map with a coating on it so you can write on it in a variety of maker types and it will wipe off. The one I got is beige on one side and gray on the other with one inch squares on both sides. They also make flip maps with printed places on them (like an abandoned building or a ship for example) so you can have a quick place to play if it fits in your game.
I think they should do a version of that necklace but have a steampunk themed world riding on it's back.

i play d&d.. d&d, pathfinder, savage worlds, gurps, cortex, BESM, HKAT, robotech, warhammer 40k, final fantasy, etc.. i don't really run my own games or anything, but i'm working on a farscape one right now.. the group will be playing bioloids. my group usually plays d&d or star wars.. the first game i ran was just a simple risus game. lol i had my group randomly roll characters.. that was a hilarious game. they were time travelers working for a secret agency in the future that abducted them from their own time & forced them to work for them for 1 year.. i made it so that their time machine was always taking them to the wrong places & times & they ended up having to save elvis from futuristic clones in ancient egypt... they rode on mechanical camels & encountered a midget circus in the middle of the desert.. one of the characters was a mad scientist stripper & she had a minion named igor that she was constantly kicking around.. there was another one that was a 1970's pornstar jock... he got handcuffed, roofied & butt fucked by his own dildo in his own austen powers style van.. by the mad scientist.. lol *sigh* good times. good times. this was before the hangover movies came out, btw.. lol but the adventure was something like that. had everyone rolling. xD

I just ordered a rather steampunky looking dress. It has a purple skirt and a green/silvery top. We'll see if the colors even look good on me.
I love mail order clothing shops where I can just ship the shit back if it doesn't fit or look right. No reason to bother going to a real store. ;-)
