No. I'm not sure how you could ever determine who's the "best" rapper.

There are too many great, lyrical lines, tracks or albums. It depends on your personal taste in hip hop culture too.

Em is a great lyricist by any standard, he's sold allot of albums and cross-over appeal has helped him.

While hip hop is pretty universal in appeal, some forget there is still regional culture of the artist that must be related to the listening audience. In other words, there is an east coast flavor or niche, west coast, south etc. I think Em should get allot of credit for taking what artists and groups like MC Breed, Slum Village, J Dilla (RIP), etc. started with midwest rap and cementing it without the gimmicks. Not that Bone Thugs, Nelly, etc. who have midwest origins are gimmicks but Nelly generally has a southern flavor and Bone Thugs were basically harmonizers.

Em is up there but as far as "best", there is no "best" IMO. Just greats.

For some I guess there's no doubt in there minds he's the best. For the majority of people who listen or listened to rap he would maybe make the top ten.

He's alright.
