I'm relatively new here, but I've been a member of a number of different internet forums over the years, and there's always plenty of situations where someone goofs up, doesn't play by the rules, steps out of line, becomes too hostile, that kind of thing.... and get's banned.

What I'd like for some of you more veteran members to do is to link to some pages with some truly epic, funny freeones bans. Tell the story behind them if you can remember all the gory, or awkward details.

This one's just for fun. I hope I don't piss anyone off.

I think most of the time the post that gets the person banned is deleted. So I'm not sure if they'll actually be any juicy posts to read. But I'm sure people who take much more notice than I do will fill you in.

Check back to 2006. You'll find a rather interesting 2 weeks or so where people were getting banned left and right. Quite entertaining to look through.

A few years ago a whole bunch of members got banned. Honestly, I'd rather not go into it because I'll probably get banned just for talking about it. I'll just say that a lot of them were active an very well respected. When they left, a lot of other people left of their own accord in protest. Long story.

On the main Talk page where you can select threads to go to, the top, right of your screen under your profile link and stuff, there's a series of 'page' links. If you click on 'last', it'll take you all the way back to 2003.

This is something that it's best if it remains buried in a dark corner.
It was VERY exhausting weeks.
