Europe vs. USA (protest)

assari

God damn it, Baconsalt!
Here are two things which we "Europeans" do not like.

1. American intelligence agency secretly listening to our leaders phones.

2. US. Army remonte controlled assassination planes.

I believe that majority of Europeans think that only a dead Arab is a good Arab, but now some people think that the purpose of this murder campaign is to eliminate not only terrorist but also political opponents.

Everyone spies on everyone. That's "foreign relations". If you didn't think this was going on... than what the fuck did you think was?

2. US. Army remonte controlled assassination planes.

Because it's not personal enough when assassination isn't done via bald-headed guy with a bar code on the back of his neck? Quick! Someone call Square Enix! I've got the plot for their next game!

If that was true all of the drones would be deployed domestically, and most of them in the South.

Here are two things which we "Europeans" do not like.

(1) One person thinking they speak for all of us.
(2) Using "European" as an umbrella term considering even the broadest generalizations of cultural, political or social attitudes will be completely different from country to country.

Hell, I don't even like the word "British." Not particularly because I'm proud of being English, but because I can imagine how pissed off the Welsh and Scottish must get being lumped in with us.

Yes, but not so prominet as you.

The German Chacellor Angela Merkel is really pissed of.

Martin Luther King's murder is an internal matter for the U.S.

Are you going to kill European leaders also?

I mean the European Community.

Brits are always on the side of America, but rest of us are objective.

I am disturbed by the revelations that our government has been eavesdropping on the leaders of countries considered to be our allies. I am going to resist condeming the Obama administration because this may have been happening before he took office too. I think Snowden should receive immunity in exchange for telling what he knows before congress but behind closed doors. The consensus is that GWB damaged our standing in the world and with other leaders. But if this spying is exclusive to the Obama administration, them they have caused far more damage than Bush ever did at least as far as our allies are concerned. It is one thing to spy on our enemies but to spy on supposed friends is unforgiveable. I am afraid we won't know the full extent of all of this until Obama leaves office. Both domestic and foreign spying. And to answer your question assari AMERICA! FUCK YEAH! YOU EUROPEANS CAN SUCK IT!

Yes, it is embarrasing if and when Mr. Obama and his staff listening to private phone calls.

Admit your actions, ask for forgiveness and the matter is taken care of.

The German media say Merkel's been bugged since 2002 and that Obama was told in 2010. Meanwhile the NSA are saying the report is untrue in it's claim about when he was told, though the BBC are pointing out that they haven't said Obama didn't know just that Gen Alexander didn't tell him in 2010 as Bild am Sonntag is reporting. I doubt we'll find out the truth any time soon and it doesn't look good on Obama even if he really didn't know anything about it.

You actually seem to be a reasonable poster although considering the exchanges that I have had the past couple of days that may not carry much weight coming from me. I don't dislike the British people but one Brit in particular here seems to get on my nerves. Sorry if you got caught up in the crosrfire when I was dealing with the other poster. Yes this spying matter is unfortunate.

Maybe, but the point is that American transparent spy operation raises the bad blood.

The Huns are really pissed.

A skilled spy works capably and do not get caught.

Dear assari my semi Finnish friend. I am visiting Europa in January. I may go to Helsinki. You have never insulted me so I am not bringing pliers. Know any Finnish chicks that you and I could drink with and dance to Violent Femmes with? That would be entertaining. Signed your American friend BC (Blue Countach)
