Europe vs. USA (protest)

assari

God damn it, Baconsalt!
Dear Mr. Blue Countach my full-blooded American friend.

I can not fooling around with strange women, but I'm happy to guide you.

My home is your home and this woman question is also easy to arrange because can a Finnish woman say no to American gentleman?

Yes they can and therefore we have to find an Estonian woman to you.

Cheers,

assari

I mean the European Community.

Brits are always on the side of America, but rest of us are objective.

I resent this remark.
You are generalising AGAIN and the UK (which includes us "Brits") is part of the EC.

I think I have been quite clear on what I think of the lack of American social health care, as an example of what I (and I think most of us "Brits") feel.
Brits are not "always" on the side of America. In fact I am pretty sure that there are very few of Labour party supporters that would ever be on the side of America.

Good one... :D

Do not worry Blue Countach, if you look anything like your avatar, I'm pretty sure that Finnish women will be swarming all around you...

America's healt care is not our business, they themselves decide what is best for them.

History proves that America and United Kingdom stand side by side during the war.

Tony Blair decided to participate in the war in Iraq.

Would this have happended if majority of the British Labour Party would have say no?

Hey Assistant, I heard some little birds sing that this is a typical Finnish man. Do you agree with this guy?

assari

I'm not sure about this. The American war of independence for one.

True, but after that the cooperation between England and USA has been relatively seamles I think.

No, not really.

That man is a Swedish and it is a parody.

It is quite amusing, but not truthful.

Oh yes, because the US leapt the aid of the UK during the 2 world wars, didn't they!

The fact that the US and UK have good diplomatic relations in no way means that "Brits" are always on the side of America.

Of course we americans "helped out" in the world wars; otherwise we would be looking down the barrel of a gun larger than our own loaded with political, economic and military bullets.

Is somewhere outhere.
Here are two things which we "Europeans" do not like.

1. American intelligence agency secretly listening to our leaders phones.

2. US. Army remonte controlled assassination planes.

I believe that majority of Europeans think that only a dead Arab is a good Arab, but now some people think that the purpose of this murder campaign is to eliminate not only terrorist but also political opponents.

For your first point the US have probably done this for decades to gain intel.I wouldn't be suprised if the likes of MI5 and the new look KGB,have also done this.I mean if the British press can hack into royal familys accounts to gain info, then i'm sure it's pretty straight forward enough to say that this has been happening for ages instead of recent.

To your second point,if the drones do the relevant damage that they need to do,then surely it's better this way than sending in soldiers to get a less effective result.

This week 6 Irish Pro-Republican terrorists were arrested in Scotland for planning a terrorist campaign, where innocents were going to be killed. Now if the authorities gained this intelligence through intercepting phones & internet then i'm all for it.

My recollection of history is that America stayed out of the 2nd world war until they were attacked by the Japanese and had no intention of helping the allies until then.

Stick with Freeones
Yep, the second world war lasted 6 years. The USA missed the first two years, but as ever probably lay claim to winning the Battle of Britain and of course they cracked the Enigma code as well. The Russians bailed everyone out in Europe. The Pacific... yes the USA can have that.

But what if "terrorist" is redefined as "person who believes politicians should do as they're elected to do"?

You need to study your history. Look up Lee R. Emery on Youtube.

We had that easy as Europe; the Japanese didn't defend their logistics.

Before we got involved militarily we were helping the Brits with the lend lease program. Supplying weapons, fuel and other supplies. The American public was loathe to get into another european war. (So much for us being war mongers).

when Maedline Albright was asked if the death of children was worth the bombings she said it was a tough one but in the end she believes it is. That's exactly how the terrorists see killing innocent people in their bombings. sacrifices that have to be made. nothing more and just the same frame of mind that the US has towards civilian casualties of war.

Not sure the best way to sum up how I believe us U.S. folks feel about this.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
Even though I'm troubled that the NSA has allegedly spied on U.S. citizens and legal immigrants, I am also rather amused at the righteous indignation expressed by foreign governments and their leaders. As has been said previously in this thread, every government spies on every other government... the only thing open to debate is the degree to which that happens. Anyone who believes otherwise is (willfully) naive.

Especially amusing to me are the Americans who are wringing their hand about what the NSA has/is doing, but when it has been proven time and time again that our "friend and ally", Israel, has and is engaged in the exact same activity against the United States government, they suddenly develop a case of Tongue Tieditis. IMO, this is just another clear example that we have more than a few people who wear our jersey but aren't really playing for the home team.

The Israeli Spy Ring

"Israel does not spy on the United States of America."
-- Mark Regev, a spokesman at the Israeli embassy in Washington

Prior to 9/11, the FBI had discovered the presence of a massive spy ring inside the United States run by the government of Israel. This seems a harsh gratitude from a nation which obtains 10% of its annual budget from the American taxpayer, $3+ billion a year. Over the years, American taxpayers have been required to send Israel more than four times what the US spent to go to the moon.

What Israel has done in return was to set up government subsidized telecommunications companies which operate here in the United States. One of these companies is Amdocs, which provides billing and directory assistance for 90% of the phone companies in the USA. Amdocs' main computer center for billing is actually in Israel and allows those with access to do what intelligence agencies call "traffic analysis"; a picture of someone's activities based on a pattern of who they are calling and when. Another Israeli telecom company is Comverse Infosys, which subcontracts the installation of the automatic tapping equipment now built into every phone system in America. Comverse maintains its own connections to all this phone tapping equipment, insisting that it is for maintenance purposes only. However, Converse has been named as the most likely source for leaked information regarding telephone calls by law enforcement that derailed several investigations into not only espionage, but drug running as well. Yet another Israeli telecom company is Odigo, which provides the core message passing system for all the "Instant Message" services. Two hours before the attacks on the World Trade Towers, Odigo employees received a warning. Odigo has an office 2 blocks from the former location of the World Trade Towers.

Let us be clear here. There is nothing benign about Israel spying on the United States. When Jonathan Pollard stole our nuclear secrets (which your taxes paid to develop) and sent them to Israel, Israel did not hesitate to trade those secrets to the USSR in exchange for increased emigration quotas.

The implication of these facts is that the billions of our tax dollars sent to Israel (while women and children sleep in America's alleys and eat out of trash bins) have bought and paid for a monstrous phone tracking and phone tapping system that can eavesdrop on almost any phone call in America. Even the White House phones were open to such tapping by listening in on the other end outside the White House itself.

This actually happened. The Ken Starr report on Whitewater describes how Bill Clinton informed Monica Lewinsky that their phone sex conversations had been recorded. At the same time, Clinton ordered the FBI to cease the hunt for an Israeli mole known to be operating inside the White House itself!

Kind of funny that I didn't see any in-depth, investigative news reports about these activities on NBC, CBS, ABC, Bloomberg or Fox. Well, to be fair, there was a Fox News report. But once people began using it as a reference and asking questions, Fox forbade sites from linking to it and it has since been removed. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I do find that rather interesting. If it walks like a duck and quacks, I wouldn't be convinced that it was a horse. But what do I know? The media and our bought & paid for politicians (Dems and Repubs - especially Evangelical types) would suggest that the creature be entered in the Kentucky Derby, just to protect their cover.
