Facebook is going to the dogs. It was great when it started , spent a lot of time playing poker till one fine day when all my chips got hacked. You cant even save photographs in the new format, how effin ridiculous is that? Ok i own the physical copy but i cant be arsed to find it , scan it send it online to someone when i can simple copy , upload and send. And now this ...

If im not mistaken facebook owns all our content and can freely distribute whatever it wants ??

You actually can save spacedbook's pictures, or any other site's for that matter, if you have image editing software. MS Paint will work. Screen cap the pic you want by pressing the PrtSc/SysRq button at the top right side of the keyboard and then pasting the screen cap into you image editor. Crop it to your specs and save as jpg. Ifran View or paint.net are the best free image editors I've used and you can find them both at download.com /compunerd

Malicious, nosy and snoopy hackers, crackers and backdoor crashers should be strapped down, force fed laxatives (I mean a gallon of the shit they give you to prep for colonoscopy), while being given a battery acid enema then have their assholes super glued shut.

Or you could just act unsuspecting and hack their shit from another computer.

There are hackers and there are hackers - those that hack to steal from real people, yea, why not give 'em what will from now on be referred to as a 'Hot Mega Treatment'.

But those that poke the bear ..... those we like:D

"The only good..."....

There's a reason why people have locks on the doors of their homes...to keep uninvited, unwanted thieves and some pests out.

Not so the goofy valet at your favorite restaurant can copy your key while you're feeding and make his way into your place one day while you're gone to rummage through your shit for whatever reason.

Same thing with computer security at any level. Idiots will contend, 'well don't go on the web if you don't want the risk of your computer getting hacked...." Nonsense. That's like arguing don't drive if you don't want to risk getting carjacked. Carjackers and hacks deserve like treatment IMO...hackers are even worse..at least the carjacker has the guts to stare you down (albeit behind some weapon) before violating your personal property.

Wow .. that's some black and white thinking there. No question you have a 'right' and a 'wrong' viewpoint.

I kinda respect it.

Even as I am hacking you.:D

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
NO. why would anyone put their phone number or address on facebook anyway? You're sharing that info with facebook (again, why?), why would anyone expect that a for-profit business wouldn't use any and all resources cultivated in the course of doing business to....make more profit by selling their data?

pfffft. dumb ass if facebook has ANYTHING important to you in the first place.

Yeah TOC, not really a grey matter IMO. It's pretty much a no brainer.

So, what about Anonymous hacking Westboro Baptist Church's hate-filled sites?

(BTW - you shouldn't use Gears to store your financial info access details. Now I have a nice new PSP! Thanks!:D)

Not even those bastards as disagreement (even to what we consider the repulsive) isn't a grounds to attack someone by violating their private property. That is zealotry of the exact same sort IMO.

What they do as bad as it is still remains legal as the USSC just decided so today. If they were violating laws...then we have people we pay in our society to surreptitiously gain access to otherwise private property for the purposes of enforcing law.

If you wish to live wisely, ignore sayings including this one.
I don't know if they do or not. But in what way?

When Facebook Connect first launch, they got in some pretty hot water for selling email addresses and phone numbers to a "screened" list of advertisers. They did a pretty good job saving face by essentially closing down the program and saying they were "doing more research" into what their users wanted. From first hand experience, this is really on the mild end of some of the shit they've pulled.

Rattrap

Doesn't feed trolls and would appreciate it if you
So basically it's now a phone book with pictures?
Exactly.

Numbers and addresses have been available to the public domain for a long time. Hell, they don't even need to be listed; the moment I plugged in my landline here in the UK (and I opted out of being in the phone book, mind) I was getting cold calls right away. And with the amount of flyer junk mail that happens in this country, what's a few more pieces of recycling?

Not that I'm defending Facebook, mind; I think changing rather big policies at the potential detriment of its users is a poor move, to put it mildly. But there's a price to be paid somewhere - nothing is free. I don't mind putting a few more flyers in the bin as payment.

If the actuality of their data farming and exploitation was ever properly exposed, they'd be sitting in front of Congressional Committees and Federal Judges from here to eternity.

That being said.

They actually tel you all the shit they are going to do in the sign up process.

Only no one reads it because it's pages of legal gibberish..

But, you want to update the world every half an hour with the minutiae of your dull suburban breeder life ......... then you get what you signed up for.

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far

Indeed. Let them try to farm the details of Mr. The Orange Cat, born in 1937, now resident of Tadzhikstan, with a NY phone number that highly resembles the switchboard number of One Federal Plaza .......:D

My gift to the digital marketing world who think farming giga-quads of FB user data will in any way do anything other than fuel companies paid to farm giga-quads of FB data

The government did it.
Facebook is a completely useless, I'm on there but I don't have anything about me on there. Its amazing the amount of inane chatter is what I will call it that people post on there. Like I really care that you rode your bike for 19 miles, what your rugrats are doing or what you are cooking. Just shows how much our technology can be used for something so fucking useless. Of course no one bothers to read the terms of Facebook and anything that is posted on their becomes the property of facebook.

Waste of time, just my :2 cents:
