Intellivision was too damned complicated. And expensive. Plus it's national release wasn't too long before the C-64. The console was probably what killed Mattel Electronics. The water rocket was cool but it broke too easily--like the wrist rocket did. Ker-Plunk was fun but aggravating as hell. :1orglaugh

My wife doesn't know I'm a perv!
Yeah, but you had to admire his ability to come back and play with one leg, after a visit to the glue hospital..

True, very true. They ended up with the entire bottom half of their legs missing and up to their waists in glue.I also remember a story where,to recreate the Christmas fixture list, someone covered their pitch in talcum powder.Genius.

My hand is my best friend!
Haha Ker-Plunk was freakin' awesome. As for toys, I always played with Legos, Dino-Riders and GI-Joes. I would often have Dino-Rider vs. GI-Joe wars.

That looks fun ! How did you secure it to the table ? "C clamps ? lol !

Remember the one on one air hockey game that had all of the little forced air holes that would thrust the plastic puck upward for faster velocity and you would take and end of the table and your opponent, his end . . . so much fun !

We had one of the first air hockey tables when they went on sale. The tabletop hockey was cool. With all the levers to move the players up and back, and around in circles. It was similar to foosball which was why I liked it.

Yeah. But i was very young so i had a really good time with it :D My father bought the C-64 almost on release and it was the end of Intellivision in our house.

In the late '70s, each one of my friend had one table at home. We had leagues, playoffs, etc Maybe the boardgame i spent the most hours playing when i was a kid.

There is an official league in Quebec Province, and many regional tournaments as well. It's maybe the most played game here.

Great Material, Fellows ! I couldn't appropriately or fairly comment on each as much as I'd like, for fear of boring everybody to death so I'll just add to the pot of gold.

Toys used to be of such high quality I remember, that hand me downs were actually a joy to receive. For instance, Mattel had once produced a line of figures, as well as a huge compliment of vehicles & accessories, under the name of "Major Matt Mason" to compliment the countries' Space Program.

I remember my older brother's left over M.M.M. figurines and accessories as being some of my all time favorites !

Here's a couple of Mattel commercials from the day -

of course, I don't recall the commercials but this is how the product was presented. :)

me and my friends always played monopoly but it always resulted in fistfights and the board going flying due to cheating.
