I guess I don’t understand the objections. To protect the rain forests in India and the wildlife in those forests the British made it illegal to sell the wood from these slow growing trees 80 years ago.
You are actually saying it should be fine for company to use illegally imported wood because it means a few jobs?
Should the United States ignore treaties with one of our closest allies and the largest democracy in the world because of 500 jobs? Doesn’t India have the right to protect her natural resources?
Illegal imports have created all sorts of problems like the anacondas in the everglades and poisonous defective drywall. Illegal imports cost a lot more jobs then they create.
How would we feel if some company in China was using illegally obtained redwood trees or bald eagle feathers and their government wouldn’t put a stop to it?
