First Internet Experience

howie789

I know how to use the search button!
Was with the "Prodigy" service- in the fall of 1992. My brother brought home his state of the art of PC at that time visiting from out of town. It was only for a few days. I remember it vividly- I was amazed. I remember "LIVE" updated NBA and NHL scores with reports- man I was having a woody without watching porn. And the email service- the first 10 you wrote was free, after that it was 25 cents per.. how times have changed

Ace Bandage

The one and only.
Oh snap, we're going old school Internet. I remember having AOL dial-up service and going into chat rooms to talk to girls. I also spent many nights on the computer with my friends talking shit to random people for no reason other than to start fights. I remember how unhappy my parents were when we were banned. Those were the good ol' days...

I don't remember the year but I had a Mac+ and was on Compuserve. Had to be very early 90's. It wasn't really what we think of as the internet now, but both me and my fiancee found it really fascinating.

Between watching F1 races and being on the computer, we probably milked another year or two out of that dying relationship.

Anybody remember the first time a girl (or a guy pretending to be a girl) posted a nude photo on a bulletin board and wanted to chat?

I'm secretly in love with my sister
You know, for the life of me can't remember what I actually did with it and I remember everyone asking me what I needed it for. A next door neighbor introduced us to the net when AOL first came out.

We spent whole evenings just typing in 'www.' then some word and '.de' or '.com'

It was the evening hours because the pay rates were in cents per minutes and in daytime it was like ten cents per minute or so, evenings half that and late nights it was around 3 cents.

How we envied those buggers at the uni who could use backbone broadband and for freakin' free!!!

My first Internet experiences were also surfing around on www.bomis.com, a webring were we found those 30 kb pix of Chasey Lain and of course Pamela Anderson.

A friend of mine freaked us out permanently because he collected bestiality pix and pix off Rotten.Com which he threw in in between.

We were all like 'Eeeeeeeeew, gross!!!'

We walked three miles, uphill (both ways!), in the snow (in the summer time!) to find our websites. There was none of this Yahooey, Googleygop shit that you whipper-snappers have these days!

:D Nah, seriously... most of these applications had keywords - I know AOL did. I never had Prodigy. And I can't remember now what Compuserve called its search or even how it functioned. But there were groups and subgroups, as best I recall. The news groups and bulletin boards were a little different. The news groups made sense to me. But the first bulletin board I got on, I couldn't keep up with what was going on. It was kind of like trying to follow a dozen different conversations on a webcam show or something - which is why I don't watch cam shows now.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.

I dig the same thing basically. Go on IRC, try having cyber sex with chics (men) :( and then find random people on ICQ and talk shit to them.

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far
We also didn't have video and it took like a good 30 seconds to a minute or more for a picture to load.

I had my first experience with Internet in 1996.
I first heard about it in 94 or 95.
