Ford to surpass GM in sales for the first time in 80 years

I certainly wouldn't give fomoco my business . . .why buy a vehicle from a corporation that supports social, econ and environmental justice?
I detest revisionism and grant student indoctrination! :ak47:

If you look carefully, the Ford Fiesta and Ford Focus will be the only American cars on the road with a 40mpg highway mileage rating. The Elantra does it too. What's wrong with most of these car makers? It's not that hard to achieve these kind of numbers.

Yeah, I'm talking to you Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep. You fucking hacks! :wtf:

The Chevy Cruze meets those as well. The Dodge Caliber got left by the wayside after the bankruptcy, i do agree.

The fuckin Hyaundi Elantra outperforms everyone in style and value and gets 29 MPG city and 40 MPG highway! How can you fuckin compete with that??:???

The last review of most automotive magazines picks the Fiesta and Focus best in class over the Elantra. Style is subjective though.

The Little 3 will be fighting it out while Japan rips the hell out of them. Funny how a trillion Toyota recalls, and still Japan leads the world.

Toyota builds fine automobiles, but boring as hell. Except for the IS or LS series you can have them and they are getting quite remiss in updated due to the recession and recalls. The Focus, Fiesta, Malibu, Fusion and Cruze have come along way in the fight. Mind you we have a Honda and a Cadillac in our driveway, the Honda has been a better car maintenence wise.

I was worried there was going to be a pic with him fucking the tailpipe. Christ sake dude it's still just a Ford.

Yeah.... I am probably a bigger fan of the Mustang than most but sheesh!!! You'd think the guy was building a photo album of his brand new little rug-rat or something.

Im a Chevrolet man all the way but how can american's produce our very own and not buy american? This is pretty screwed, we buy all their Toyota's, Lexus, Honda's, Nissan, while our Ford, GM, Dodge, Saturn don't see nearly the same numbers. Why? :dunno:

Can't say I've been a fan, ever since that POS Probe I bought about 8 years ago that turned into a nightmare for me. That said, my parents' Taurus is a runner and seems to be as solid of a car I remember driving. :2 cents:

I'm curious. What happened to yours? I had a 95 that I bought new and sold after only 25k miles. I didn't have any issues with it but I heard some real horror stories from other Probe owners after I sold mine.

Head gasket.

I was still a dumby when in the car market at that time. It was an '89 but the thing was mint (so I thought). Fortunately for me I knew enough people to move a few things around (a $300 Grand Am for labor and parts of the new engine, LOL) and I got rid of that thing. It's sad because the 93-96 bodies of the Probe were sick. That engine was just a pathetic shit of an engine. The second one I bought was a Mazda engine I hated Ford so much at that time.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
I never cared for Fords (although I've bought brands owned by Ford) until very recently. And yeah, part of it has to do with how the company handled itself during the financial meltdown - though I admit, part of that had to do with VERY lucky timiing. IMO, the three best CEO's in the automotive segment right now are Carlos Ghosn (Nissan-Renault), Sergio Marchionne (FIAT-Chrysler)... and Alan Mulally (Ford). And I think Mulally had the hardest turn around job... and he's performed wonderfully. An airplane guy who has successfully transformed one of the most entrenched corporate cultures in the world.

I wish Ford hadn't sold Jaguar and Volvo. But if I buy a truck anytime soon, I would definitely look hard at a Ford before I'd even consider anything else. I'd really like to support Ford. I also wish that I'd bought more stock when it was in the $5 range.

My best car ever was from 98- 2002.......A pristine cond. 95 Gt 5spd with 17 Cobra Rims, ZR tires black on black interior(not charcoal) and a beautiful custom red metallic clearcoat paintjob and .........uh oh, I think I just came!

I loved that car, sold it for a cherokee stupid me.
