I watched an episode of The Universe on the History channel where they were debating this theory with particle physicists... they all basically said that really small particles do behave strangely, consistent with a simulation. It is very plausible that somewhere else in the universe, at some time, a race like us developed super computers and built a program to find out where they came from... and that we live in the simulation.

Based on SCIENTIFIC OBSERVATION, it CANNOT BE DIS PROVEN with what we know about the universe at this point in time.

That, by definition, makes it a "plausible" theory.
