Canada is one of the only true allies we have left on the planet. Watching the vid from these 20-something smart-asses lambasting our friends to the north reminded me of Canada's selfless involvement and defense of the USA back in the Iranian hostage situation back in the late 70s. I wonder if any of these goofy kids have ever read a history book:

Wait a minute...either you believe they are totally forgettable and thoughtless, and an idiotic TV show, or you think they are totally relevant with a huge audience hanging on their every pronouncement. Pick one...
Or do you think Canadians are simpleminded without the ability to see how totally forgettable, thoughtless, and idiotic they are? Just totally ignore all the history we have had, and all the positive things that have been said about our mutual efforts in the military conflicts we have shared?
Canadians have ragged on America and Americans many times, that's the nature of things...
Yet, in spite of the small audience the very late night show has, which would have insured almost no one would have even known about the comments, suddenly they are a major blow to Canadian-American relations?
How does this show why the "world hates us"? That's a tired old saw that doesn't really mean anything in the grand scheme of things...
I think this is another example of overblown hysteria about a less than monumental occurrence.

Frankly, after the disgraceful way we handled the Tarnak Farms incident; I expect no less from the sniveling guttersnipes that seem to infest the media (Faux News isn't the only one).

As someone who calls Buffalo home and as an American, I apologise to our Canadian friends. "Forgive them, for they know not what they do".

Not every American disregards our friendly neighbors to the North. It's not for nothing that we share one of the longest, unguarded borders in the world.

After watching that clip... that was a moronic program! How anyone could take that seriously is beyond me.

Just because it has a Fox News logo in the lower corner does not give it one ounce of credibility.

They were spouting off tired, old and lame Canadian jokes that have all been said before. If anything the Canadians have a right to bitch about non originality.

Any loss of life is cause to morn, but this program is something that is over hyped, and over blown.

Being a former member of the Canadian military, I have to say that his comments are innapropriate and misinformed. The comments do not bother me much, since they really are just the comments of an ignorant American who knows nothing about Canada or its military, but they are innapropriate because our country is currently mourning the loss of four soldiers in Afghanistan. We have lost soldiers, just like America, and our contribution to Afghanistan is only beaten by America, Britain, and maybe Germany.

Our military is the butt of plenty of jokes, sure, but these comments were just ignorant. It is probably a good idea the comedy club in Edmonton cancelled Benson's appearance. I know if I was there, he would have been hurt. Plenty of Americans tend to get offended when other countries insult their army or soldiers or country, so why does that make it acceptable to insult ours?

His "apology" does not fix anything. It is just a script that he reads off of every time someone at Fox offends someone. They are right, what he, and his panelists, need to do is, on camera, openly apologize for his comments and the offence he has caused for members of the Canadian Forces, and the families of the deceased.

bad jokes come from many sources on the tube. Like obama saying he bowled so bad he felt like he was part of the special olympics.
bad taste, but with the fox show you do have the option not to watch, with Obama you don't.

The only reason this made the news and this board is because it came from fox, selective outrage I suppose.
