I got through the first paragraph and it's already hit me. Yes, as conservatives, we want Obama to fail and look bad so that our party can regain majority status, and anyone who says otherwise is naive to politics; however, I feel that it is stretch to say that simply by being conservative and religious, someone can hate
America. Were this true, then liberals have also hated
America during every conservative administration; therefore, I consider the argument highly unlikely. Logically, if anyone hated this country so much, then they wouldn't be living and working and voting here; moreover, those who do hate this country to that extent usually resort to seditious acts and blatant terrorism. Or, if you want to drop the logic and go purely PR/political, I've heard the religious right say that "
America is on the wrong course" and "
America needs to be saved," but I have yet to hear anyone on the religious right say "God damn
America."
Of course, as with all political writing, consider the source of this piece.
