Probably not the smartest thing he hs ever done.
Good thing the neighbors were alert and called the police. This could have turned out a lot worse

moral of the story: when your neighbors ain't got no sense of humor, be ready for the police :dunno:

not the smartest prank ever, i wonder what his intention was when he thought of this prank, or how he thought it could end well

Why so sure its a prank? Sounds like a half intelligent cover story. So what if he slept in there occasionally, maybe he was half hoping it would work. If he parked it near my sister I woulda used a crowbar.

Well, I suppose it could have turned out a lot worse IF the guy was in the van, the van was unlocked and he let or encouraged kids to climb inside. The sign alone doesn't mean much.

If some kids came across the van and the van was locked up, so what?

Well, sure, it COULD be. But what are you suggesting? People shouldn't be allowed to live in their vans? Any signs and stickers on a vehicle should be approved by some agency? I mean, hell, we better ban Halloween, what with little kids going to strangers' homes and getting free Candy And all! I remember when I was a kid sometimes we'd have to GO INSIDE the house to take a grab from the candy bowl.

No, I never suggested that, you did. but guys with "Candy Inside" signs should be aware that their sign could be "misinterpreted". I don't see where I suggested people couldn't live in their vans, but in the story it was portrayed as if that somehow made it less creepy.

I'm from Australia, we don't really do halloween but I gather halloween is a culturally accepted norm, not a random van trying to attract kids on the street.
