What a catchy headline!



In the part of town where I live, we have these automats:

There are slots with sterile syringes, needles, spoons, lemon extract, etc. Cost 50 cents each.

As you won't stop drug users from shooting up, you can do the city a favor by keeping them from spreading HIV etc around. In the end, that would a ) cost a LOT more, and as they get in contact with non-users via sex and so on, b ) you keep a lot more people safer.

So, do you think this is a good thing?

It's not really a bad thing. I'm not sure about the second part about a drug haven where the addicts can do drugs. I'm wondering on the legal aspect on whether that is consider abetting.

Maybe it helps when you witness some of the things that go on. Two men in the house I live, upstairs, they are on a methadone project (I suspect they tend to fall in and out of it, back on heroin)

Over at the central square of Kiel-Gaarden, there the druggies meet every day, get wasted and stand/sit/lie around on a corner. They are a pain in the ass for shopowners.

Actually I do understand. When I was a teenager I had to be careful when I mowed the front lawn or clip the tree box in the front because sometimes there would be used needles. This was in the seventies when the hard drug of choice was heroin. There was a park 2 blocks north of my house where no one could enjoy because of the addicts and to support their habit you would be robbed. Later it was crack addicts. So what I mean it is not a bad idea is that it is cheaper to buy needles than it is to buy AZT. The second part about abetting is that law enforcement might use this to arrest them. While in the drug haven they cannot do anything. If you leave with the pipe you can be charge with posession where I live.

Anyone with any common sense isn't going to share a needle with or have sex with a junkie.
Junkies only spread HIV to other junkies. I see no problem with that.

I've always had this theory that the powdered sugar on their donuts is actually cocaine. Wouldn't that be lovely?
