that grilled shit looks so disgusting. i wonder if those "grill" marks are actually as fake looking as they are on tv.

I actually tried that shit when it first came out and they were giving away a free piece so you could taste the difference for yourself (I actually went to the 3 local KFCs that day to sample it. Hey, I didn't have to pay for lunch that day! ). My impression was that it fell WAY below my expectations: it was dry, bland, and overcooked. Maybe they've gotten it down since then, but my first impression didn't leave me wanting to try it again.

You cannot beat homemade, where you know where the chicken has come from. The flavour of the bird itself tends to be lost in KFC and other fast food chains, as they use flavourless battery, mass produced chickens to keep costs down, and far too much salt in the batter to compensate.
However, if KFC used free range birds, they might just top the scale.

In high school, I had a good friend who worked in the local KFC, besides getting a real bad case of acne from all the oil and grease they use. Fortunate for him, after he stopped working there, his face cleared up completely in three years with the help of a dermatologist.

Anyway, the chicken comes frozen in boxes. They let these boxes defrost near the ovens. And then the rats and roaches come at night.... Oh my. Not good. Not good at all. Yuk.
