yea, it's hard to deal with at times. I barely knew Nick Adenhart, but a team is a team. When one team member falls the rest of the team usually follows. Doesn't really work with sports, but w/e I'm tired.

I'm going to bed guys. Thanks for listening.

ill tell you a funny story on these lines. and by funny i mean absolutely tragic. my uncle, yes family and ill love him forever, is a raging alcoholic. lucky for him, he lives in wisconsin, where dui's are a misdemeanor. they will pull you over, write you a ticket, and say have a safe drive home. well there he was on his 30 somethingth dui drivin down the road mindin his own business and all of a sudden he plows into a high school boy and his young lady friend. the young boy has a broken collar bone and broken hip bone and a few other injuries. the girl as i recall had a broken arm and a broken leg. nothin life threatening but the situation in and of itself was to say the least very unsafe. for all this he recieved 6 months in a correctional facility, and a year probation. mind you this is his 30 somethingth dui and his first time ever seeing the inside walls of a correctional facility. and to top it off, from day one inside, he was out on work release. anyways this all happened somewhere around 3 years or more ago..... like i said he's my uncle and i love him regardless of all the issues, but the legal system is broken.....

Yea, I saw your message.

My main team is the Minnesota Twins.

I have always liked the LAA though. Started when I saw the angels in the outfield movie. Just always like the set up of Anaheim. Tori Hunter got traded to the angels and I follow him a bit still. I'm moving out to California in about 3 months so I'll be following the Angels on tv and the Twins on mlb.com.

I like the dodgers, but Manny isn't my favorite.

Sorry to disappoint, but the driver in the Adenhart DWI is eligible for a 55-life sentence.
Same difference...making it to 80 in prison is no free ride.

About how everybody drinks and drives, yeah thats probably true. I will admit that I have aimlessly driven around after having a couple of beers. Was I incapacitated to the point where I cant make out my surroundings? No, its the fuckheads who cant see straight and cant walk a few steps before falling down are the idiots who should be locked up. As for the punishment for the drunk, I say run him over a couple of times and then lock him up.

All it take sis a couple of beers to crash into someone. Plus most drunks when they get caught claim they only had a couple of beers. That seems to be the popular number. No one should drink and drive.

They will never have breathalizers in every single car. It is impossible.

55 years is a pretty heave sentence, and while I think there are times where willful negligence or disregard for human life should equal malice in punishments, I still don't see a drunk driver as equal to somebody that just goes out and kills three other people in cold blooded murder. The person's life is pretty much over and he will be an old man by the time he gets out. That's a pretty bad punishment, and one I think is more or less fair. I wouldn't be surprised if in other parts of the country that it might only be considered manslaughter for killing somebody while drunk driving.

Will fuck for FreeOnes!

Yeah it is impossible because the ACLU won't allow it claiming a violation of ones personal rights. If she had a of those prior violations, she ought to get a stiffer penalty seeing as though she has not learned anything from her license being suspended.

as long as people think they are above the law and so cool they can drink and drive innocent people like this will keep being killed . i have lost a friend to drunk driver my cousin is in a wheel chair will never walk or talk again all she can do is moan .

she was 17 yrs old when she was driving on a country road and got hit by a drunk driver her seat belt snaped she flew threw the window smack a tree.
scary but d.u.i's and drunk driving hitting people and getting busted seems like the most common crime around right now.

im sadden for the lose of anyone affect by drunk driving .

there is no solution to the problem either besides to rasie the age limit or control the amount of alcohol sold to one person .

i also belive in an eye for an eye if you take a life you dont get another chance at freedom

I hope someone murders his ass in prison. I'm so pissed still about this incident and it happened over 24 hours ago.

Sorry if someone posted this already. I need to vent and couldn't find the thread.

The breakdown:
3 deaths, 1 injured and he can only get a max of 55 years?

That's fucking bullshit in my opinion.
1. 2nd time driving drunk
2. suspended license (from the first one)
3. 3x the legal limit

Nick Adenhart finally made it to the majors. Some bitch takes it away and gets a 3rd chance. While Nick Adenhart and two of his friends get no second chance. They didn't even make the mistake.

Judicial system = skewed.
Habitual offenders = Lesson not learned, needs punishment.
55 years = Lifetime sentence. How the hell does it make it any better to give him 300 years (whew, a big number! I feel better about it all!.. except they wont live thru the first 100)
or perhaps stamp 'LIFETIME!' on his punishment. But then he'll get parole and noone will care at that point in time.

Either way, sending someone to prison for even a year or five is a 'lifetime sentence'. You dont recover from time spent. Ever.

I can only speak for myself, but life without the possibility of parole would seem justified for this kind of action.
