Futurama, another long time no seen series

I recently posted a topic about Married with children. And this is also my final writing about old series. I just wanted to know what your thaughts were about the Futurama series.

Although a cartoon, I thaught it to be very funny and it was animated in a cool way. The attention to details was just awesome. And you had to watch every epsiode twice to see some hidden funny things in the background.

Clearly Matt Groening copied the Simpsons style and altered it a little bit, but that didn't make it anything less. What did make it less was that Futurama's characters weren't as great as those of the Simpsons.

Unlike Married w...I didn't mind the series got canceled. The later years episodes got weaker and weaker and from a certain moment on Fry, Leela and Bender were the only ones important enough to give attention.

I loved Futurama. One of those shows that was canceled too soon - I think the level of creativity was at its height when it got the axe. The episode where Bender was floating through space, inhabited by a small, evolving race, was one of the better episodes in television history, IMHO.
A lot of times, the creativity of a series is hurt when the main minds are working on another series. I think The Simpsons had some pretty good episodes during the Futurama run, and Futurama was in a world of its own. Compare that to what I think has been the fall in quality of Family Guy since American Dad hit the air, and the differences are striking.
I've enjoyed the DVD recent DVD releases - they did quench my thirst slightly - but they also left me with a "too little, too late" taste in my mouth. While it would be cool to bring it back, it simply would not feel right...the rhythm of the series has been completely interrupted and forever disrupted, as would bringing back FireFox or Arrested Development after all these years.

Yeah, loved it, and glad it's back. South Park and Simpsons are proof that shows like this have long life spans. Can't wait for Bender's new adventures!

Topic starter wanting to say more.

Although Bender, Leela and Fry are the 3 main characters of the show, I really hope the others will get more attention soon. I do not like Amy and Hermes, but with a little bit of more attention and storywriting, they can become much more.
I loved Doctor Zoidberg, but in the last movies he only got 2 or 3 joke lines.
Really sad.

When FOX canceled Futurama,they should have kept it and got rid of King Of The Hill.I think Futurama was a little too witty and not low brow enough for today's audience.Probably one of the most under appreciated shows ever.
