Could be a plan... :dunno: Now all the GOP needs to do is field a "Generic Republican"... instead of the Evangelical, faux fiscal conservative wingnuts that seem to be populating their field now. The closest thing to a generic Republican, that is in the field now, is probably Mitt Romney. And the best he can do is being down to Obama by 6%, according to the latest Quinnipiac poll from a few days ago. Back in June, the contest between Romney and Obama was a toss up... some polls showing Romney up by a few points and others showing Obama up by a few points - always seemed to fall within the margin of error for either = advantage none. But as Romney's past statements and actions have come out, he seems to have lost some steam. And with the Tea Baggers now in love with
Minxy Mistress Michele, she seems to be gaining GOP favor, while Romney is stumbling. But Obama tops every other (declared) Republican by double digits in every poll I've seen. Whatever is happening,
Big Daddy O (my tribute to Georges
) seems to have no problem raising LOADS of cash though - and much of it in smaller donations. I think seeing some of the kooks on the GOP side is causing that. That's my guess anyway. Let Bachmann win Iowa and I bet Obama's team will have to hire people just to count all the cash that comes rushing in.
And if this debt ceiling thing doesn't get straightened out before we default and it takes us back into recession, the polls indicate that testicles and ovaries will be forcibly taken from anyone who even looks like a Republican. Since I haven't totally ruled out having kids, I'd say now is a good time for me to point out that I have NEVER been a member of a political party (other than United We Stand about 20 years ago). M'kay?! :angels:
