Gangster’s tattoo showing murder scene leads to his conviction

If Anthony Garcia wasn't regretting that huge tattoo inked across his chest before, he sure must be now. That's because it was the Los Angeles gangster's body art that tipped off law enforcement to his role in an unsolved murder--and ultimately helped lead to his conviction. In short, as Los Angeles Times reporter Robert Faturechi notes, Garcia drew cops a map of the crime scene--on himself.

In 2008, Kevin Lloyd, a homicide investigator with the L.A. County Sheriff's office, was looking through photos of tattoed gang members, when he came across Garcia's (above). Garcia had recently been picked up on a routine traffic stop and soon released, but the image on his chest caught Lloyd's attention.
Whoops! :hybrid:

he's a gangsta not gangster. there is a difference.

this is massively creative stupidity. if he wanted to be dumb he should have just turned himself in like most other retarded criminals.

i hope they got more evidence. that shouldnt be enough.

if more is explained in links. i apoogize, i did not read it, the first post was stupid enough.(the 2 paragraphs)

Well, it was probably evidence enough to establish probable cause to investigate him with warrants and questioning. In so doing, the cops likely found more evidence or witnesses for the prosecution to build a more solid case against the dummy.

In most cases if you're actually guilty and the cops suspect you...they are 75 pct. of the way there. If you commit a crime and become a suspect...it would seem to be just a matter of time before you get nailed.

As for the tat..he could have had it depicting circumstances of the murder that wasn't public knowledge and only the killer could have known.:2 cents:

yeah. thats why i apologized if there was more info. obviously this tat would have him suspected of the crime. but the tat shouldnt be enough. defence lawyers would love that to much. easy win. from what i read automatically figured the cops figured him guilty through the tat alone which would be dumb.

if theres any chance the tat sticks. alot of killers will drug wannabes and tat'em up. i would.

on a side note. guilty till proven innocent.

I've always said 'If you want to let the world know you're stupid, get a tattoo on your face.' I may have to amend that now.
