Getting rid of trolls on the board

I was just wondering if there's any way that we could get rid of trolls on the board when moderators aren't around. I'm curious because, lately, whenever we've had some shithead decide to sign up and start flaming away, the people that can get rid of him seem to be away, and no amount of post reports do anything. Today I had a problem with this shithead leaving annoying messages on my user comments, and there were absolutely no mods that I could report him to anywhere to be found. I doubt if it's likely to happen, but isn't there some kind of feature that allows someone's account to be frozen when, say, 5 consecutive posts have been reported?

I'm new, so I don't really know how things work, but it would make sense to have something like that, but there would be obvious problems with it, for the same reasons that you can't rep the same people over and over again.

Good idea in theory, but it wouldn't work. It would kind of like be my idea of making Willem wear a shock collar...so whenever he makes a mistake I can shock him. Eventually I'm going to get bored and start pressing the button to amuse myself. So while it's a good idea, it will be easily abused. Same goes for a tool like this...people will do it out of spite or just because they can. The way people whine about negative rep....I can only imagine the lashback for this.

Unfortunatly I have to let the mods sleep so just don't feed the trolls until someone can take care of it.

Best thing is to just not interact with trolls. There will always be trolls, and they'll never go away.

But when it comes to accounts being frozen after reported enough times, a basic problem here could be if trolls started using multiple accounts to report real users. See?

Better just leave it to the admins and otherwise just not talk to them.

Obviously, trolls are pretty much stupid, vacant and utterly without sense, so they will answer 'yes', at which point they are denied access.

Yeah. Plus we could ask them some kind of difficult and pointless riddle. If they answer incorrectly, we could drown them in the river, then wait under the bridge for our next victim!
