Yes,there are new ideas,but they usually never see the light of day.
The only reason that they do remakes and sequels is to 1)utilize today's special effects technology and 2)hope that they can cash in by exploiting the nostalgia factor.
Personally,I couldn't give a rat's ass about this movie no matter if the original cast is in it or not.The first movie was classic,the second was just o.k.,but now,it's just way too late to try to bring this franchise back.Remember what happened when they brought back Indiana Jones after almost 20 years?
