God of War 3 demo

surprised that nobody started this yet. Since I'm the ps3 biased prick :hatsoff: of the gaming dept I'll do the honors. Got the demo today from a gamestop alittle bit further down the road than my usual one.Sometimes the dudes in there are clueless,they kept insisting that you only got the demo with the Remastered Collection but the website showed different and so did this other Gamestop. Gamestop isnt quite Dunkin Donuts ball park yet(one on every corner),but they are getting there so it wasnt far.

Anyways,the demo is real good. As expected it looks nice and has a killzone2 kinda sheem to it. If I took a guess I'd say they used the killzone2 engine but the devs are obviously a diff company. Believe it or not I'm more impressed with the animation than the pure visuals. Every flows smooth and not one bit robotic but in 100% of everything that moves. The demo clocks in at 2.67 gigs. It beat out Forza 3 as the biggest file for a demo I have ever seen. Its big,shit the gold copy might fill up a bluray and only leave alittle room left.

I'm gonna be honest,ps3 biased prick aside....after playing 1/2 way through this afternoon and start to finish just now,in 24 some odd years of being around videogames Ive never seen anything like this ever. I'm actually amazed that the ps3 can even handle what I'm seeing here. Before my second session with it I changed the nitrogen coolant in my system just in case LOL.

I'll put it to you this way...I have hope now that the gen after this will bring CG movie quality visuals during gameplay to the table. If this is what can be done on ps3 in terms of animation and visuals than I can see the xbox3 and ps4,or whatever they'll be called,pulling off some crazy ass shit.

One of my friends was saying the same thing about the god of war series just this past weekend. Gamer since birth and he had never seen anything like it either.

Fuck, I might just have to pick up a PS3 soon. I've seen the video online of the demo playthrough and it looks good there. I imagine that doesn't even do it justice.

Yes sir whaler,and call ahead to make sure they got the demo code cards there. These kids sometimes arent even aware of the trade-in specials and thats their job to tell me not mine to tell them lol. Dont waste time going down to a store that aint got your demo cause unless you know a dude they wont hold on to one if they get it days later. It is also gonna be packed with the Remastered collection in 2 weeks indeed.

The only thing you get out of the demo video is the slick animation,you put it all on a 42 incher running in 1080p and you see some serious shit. Its quite a spectacle.

oh god i cant wait. on my 40 incher....i bought PS3 when i bought the TV just so i can have it when GOWIII came out. my plan was to buy the PS3 and GOWIII all in the same day but i dont need to do that. and i only own 3 games for PS3 (mlb09,resident evil 5 and star wars:republic heroes)

I was gonna suggest waiting to you. The games not landing till March 31st thats 5 months away. Its been delayed.....you know sonys got dudes with fucking machine guns to these devs heads making sure this thing is insane as any game ever. They can finally go pee know that the demo is out. Serious though,this is Sonys Halo.

3rd time through,I'm noticing that it is indeed running in 1080p and there is no aliasing,aka jaggies, in the background at the same time. Thats not an easy feat to pull off. Very few games on both machines run in 1080p cause that can sharpen things up too much,this however is as smooth as glass. I'm seeing that works wonders for the resolution of the whole package and the lack of aliasing along with the smooth animation is what is giving it that film type feel to it. Its a hard game too. Even the people sized goons you fight keep crawling for you and stick a sword up at you after you slice their legs off.

2 weeks ago I was just saying that I never saw anything like Uncharted2....

they havent announced it coming to the ps store. From a marketing standpoint it would make sense to keep it preorder and remastered collection only. Maybe eventually but probably after the game hits which is 5 long months from now.

Provided it doesn't get pushed back a 3rd time, which it probably will, it's due to release March 31st. Like was stated earlier. They are making sure this game is as perfect as you can make a game with the given technology available today! To the point that there can't possibly be a more beautiful or perfect game until next gen!
