Going back from Smartphone excess

I had a smartphone, you know, office suite, full internet browser, lots of stuff you really don't need on the go, when you just want to be accessible via phone and SMS and maybe email, but not like, Blackberry, get them any given minute.

So I got me this oldschool phone

It i sthe Nokia 2330 classic, and it has what I need, and hey, it its in my jeans front pocket, which is a nice thing for a change

We had a lot of talk about iPhones, iPads, porn-mobile, etc this year, but I don't think I need that. Or feel like getting in the washroom in a train and watch and listen to people fucking to have a wank :1orglaugh

When I was on a lot of business trips in the last years, I had a laptop, and I took some cds along on overnight trips so i could watch some porn latenight in the hotelroom to release the stress after a long day at conferences and so on.

I don't think that'll stop you. Besides, aren't Groucho's pants big enough?

And although the radiation emitted from cell/pcs band devices is non ionizing, I personally still wouldn't be stashing anything with a microwave band antenna near my balls. (Even though there isn't an external, gain antenna...that phone still has one, all devices that transmit/ receive or both have an inherent antenna referred to as an "isotropic" antenna..)

My current cell phone is an 8 year old Motorola flip phone and I'm going to keep rolling with it until it stops working. It's so old that when I went in the Verizon store, several of the employees gathered around me to actually see this "museum piece". OG, baby! OG! :nanner:

But since my girl has an iPhone 4, I broke down and bought an iPod Touch 4th Gen. so we could FaceTime chat, etc. Me, I'm not really into smartphones - although I do love the iPod Touch (which I can basically turn into a phone if I want to). But if you gave her the choice of keeping her iPhone or staying with me, she'd kiss me good-bye before you even finished the question. If you told her she'd have to fight Mike Tyson in a cage match to keep her iPhone, a girl who's barely coordinated enough to slap herself in the face would totally kick Mike Tyson's ass that day. Both she and her sister seem to have their iPhones surgically attached to their hands. And if FaceBook and Twitter ever go out of business, I figure both of them will just walk into the highway and kill themselves.

Maybe that Unabomber guy was onto something. :dunno:

I had a POS flip, then a brick phone for a long time, then a smaller brick phone, then a Blackberry.
Although I don't use every feature on it, I like it.

i have a motorola razr 2 right now...i'm hell on phones and the exterior of it is pretty much destroyed but its still working great

I have a Razr model 2 as well, for going on 5 years. I've only upgraded once, because the first phone I got stopped working and my plan allowed me to. It suits my purposes fine, I like it, and I don't plan to upgrade from it unless I have to. I honestly can't say I get the deal with owning smartphones. It's not even a phone anymore as much as a handheld computer, and people don't even talk on them anymore for that matter if they can text, vidchat, or whatever they do on them. I'd much rather go back to the days of having to use a payphone rather than see an ad almost every other day for the new, improved Droid, Iphone, etc.
