Indeed, we're dealing with percentages here, but if 100 % is the total population (which is the case) then only a quarter of the total population lives under the poverty line.

There are some inconsistencies (which I hoped you wouldn't notice).

1. I only took the female population
2. I only took the population between 15 and 64
3. I 'failed' (on purpose) to mention that the chances are also a lot larger that you'll find unshaven Indian women. (because India has a much larger population than the US)
4. I failed to mention that this woman might not be from India at all.

So, yes, my statement isn't really correct, but neither is Yaheems.
