Greatest sportsman ever (in any sport)?

If I had a my Freeones account, I would have just gotten 25 points!
What about W.G.Grace? Yes, he bent the laws sometimes to suit him, but certainly on a par with Bradman - although from a different generation.

Yes, Grace and Bradman both dominated the sport in their time in a way which is almost unheard of.
To those uninitiated in cricket, a world class batsman in international cricket is lucky to average around 50.Bradman averaged-over his whole international career-99.96.
Grace's averages with bat and ball are less impressive but they were earned under much more difficult conditions and swamped the efforts of all other players.

I know I'm quoting myself but I forgot Sir Garfield St Aubrun Sobers as the greatest cricketer in the history of the game. Not as good with the bat as Bradman though his average was 58 , not as good a bowler as Shane Warne but put the two together and he was the greatest all round performer.

Cricket by the way is second only to soccer in terms of world popularity.

#1 Micheal Jordan
#2 Tiger Woods

These two just dominated their sports like no one ever has nor ever will.

don bradman begs to differ. infact it's not even close. bradman's domination of cricket pisses on jordan and woods domination from a great height.

as for the boxing nominations, there are weight divisions outside the heavys. the P4P greatest title should fall to one of sam langford, harry greb, sugar ray or henry armstrong. the likes of ali, marciano and louis don't deserve a mention as far as that title goes.

Isaac Hunt

Keep posting!
Joe Calzaghe (boxing) retired undefeated champion.
Steve Redgrave (rowing) five times consecutive olympic champion (spanning 20 years)!
Michael Phelps (swimming) obvious.
Roger Bannister (athlete) for questioning and beating what was thought to be impossible.

prime roy beats prime joe.

prime hopkins v prime joe is highly debateable.

bums and washed up fighters? it's safe to say you know nothing about the sport.
