.....but i can't really think of a single thing i like about this country. maybe it's because it's 3 am and i'm a braindead and horny at the moment, but i'd like to hear what you guys (or gals) specifically like about living here. and you can't say freedom, because that could mean damn near anything.

How about the fact that you and Carlin and everyone else have the uninhibited right to express those feelings publicly without fear of retribution? Try doing that in Iran or North Korea or some other fucked-up country and see where that gets you.

The United States of America....laden with all of her shortcomings and faults....is still the greatest place to live on the face of the planet. If it's so fucked up here, why the hell is everyone from all over the globe moving here?

Celebrate our nation's greatness and appreciate your personal opportunity for success by having had the very good fortune of being born a citizen of the United States. I give thanks for that every single day.

I love my country,but fear my government.

I'm the same exact way. Just because I put a Carlin quote that says the truth about America, does not mean I hate America. I love being an American and wouldn't live anywhere else. I'm just the type of person that doesn't get all choked up over yellow ribbons and American flags. They're symbols and I leave them for the symbol-minded. But yes, I am grateful every single day for the privileges, not rights, but privileges we have in this country. Because let's face it, those privileges can be taken away, and some people are trying to take away those privileges every single day. Freedom of speech is a big one. I really believe in freedom of speech, and whenever the day comes that I or anyone can't speak their minds, without fear of retribution, that's the day when America has truly lost it's value.
