Have you ever been electrically shocked by both 110v and 220 volt ?

What's the 220 volt like ? Does it feel as you would imagine it would, twice the shock of 110 v. ?:uohs:

How about 440 v. ? ! :nono:

Nice tits, mind if I feel them?
Yes, I have been shocked by a 220 volt! I'm about 1/10000 of Dr. Manhattan! :D

Boobinator

Would you hit it?
I don't mean to be a buzzkill (tragically bad pun intended) but isn't voltage pretty irrelevant as to what happens with your body? I think it's effect (watt) you mean.

Also, why are you asking? :dunno:

what the fuck you lookin at?

amps actually. voltage is irrelevant. A typical static electricity shock can be upwards of 25,000 volts, but the amperage is so minuscule that you hardly notice it.

Spreading the seed
I got shocked by a 120V outlet so hard it tripped a 30 amp breaker,
I got grabbed between the neutral wires on a 277V circuit and fell off an 8-foot ladder (the neutral carries 480V),
I got zapped by a flourescent ballast (600V) and my hand was numb for 2 hours,
I got my arm caught on a live bus conductor carrying 450V, 400Hz,

The volts don't kill, the current (amps) is what kills.

Guess what my job is? If getting shocked ever stops hurting, I'll become a heavy equipment operator.

In love with my hand.
Right. Amps are what kill! I got shocked the other day by 350V DC but the current was low enough that I wasn't harmed--I felt a tingle however:eek:.

I was just reminded that Europe, UK and probably most of the word, I would imagine, uses 220 volt utilities, whereas in 'merika, only high current drawing utilities, namely electric laundry dryers and electric kitchen ranges and the like use 220v.

So, a child isn't in any greater danger as he / she thrusts a paper clip into a 220v utility outlet as opposed to a 110v outlet, it's a matter of ampere that matters ? :dunno:
OK, got it, thanks ! ~

The query was just a curio, that's all ~ :hatsoff:

^Really, thanks for the 'n fo, fellas ! Now, drop a fresh, out of package, 9 volt alkaline (duracell) in your pocket, along with a few dimes. Has anybody ever done that ? :rofl2:  J/K :p

As little as 1/4 amp can kill you from what I've been told (never tried it myself!).

I've been shocked by 220V on several occasions (stupidity on my part that on which I won't elaborate). It didn't kill me (obviously!) but it sure as hell wasn't any fun either.

Yeah, 110, 220. It sucked. I think I came up with some new curse words that day.

Hello Sexy girl how your Toes doing?
I had a lobotomy.:shocked::shock::Flame: too try and cure my Tourette's syndrome. :rolleyes::rofl2:

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
I've felt em both, couldn't really say if one felt worse than the other, they both wake you up pretty quick. You're actually less likely to be hurt by higher voltage, as the current is more likely to race over the outside of your body looking for a better conductor (believe it or not, people make pretty poor conductors) and will more likely just leave you with a nasty burn.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
I'm sitting here right now with my little toe stuck in the electric socket. S'nice.

Who's your favorite pr0nstar?
I've never been hit by 220, but I also know 110 electrocution extremely well. Like a complete retard, I was working on an outlet without shutting the power off. I was holding onto a piece of metal conduit and just pushing the socket back into the receptacle. I must have touched the hot wire in the process because next thing I know, I completed the circuit and it's going up my right arm, through my chest and out to my left arm, into the conduit.

I literally couldn't break myself free, I was just stuck to the fucking thing with my teeth chattering for what felt like 30 seconds, but was probably only 5. Luckily I was crouching down at the time and I was able to just fall backwards onto the floor and I came off it. I remember just yelling "SHIIIITTTTTT" and my wife came running in. I must have looked like a ghost because she started crying and she didn't even know what had just happened. I'm lucky my damn heart didn't stop, and my chest hurt for about an hour. Took me a few hours to get my wits about me.

Moral of the story kids..."If you're going to work with electricity don't be a fucking idiot like me... SHUT OFF THE POWER AT THE BREAKER BOX FIRST. NO EXCEPTIONS"

Come to think of it, all of the electrical shocks that I have sustained seem to travel as far as my shoulder. It's at that point where I picture myself letting go of the electrode !

You mean 1/4 volt with high amps behind it, correct ?

Nope...

Current kills because it causes muscle contractions. With enough current the heart cannot pump blood at all. I always forget the exact numbers but wikipedia says that lethal amounts are from 60 milliampers to 0,5 ampers. Bear in mind that one amp is quite a current.

Also, 1/4 of a volt cannot produce high amps through the human body, because it's resistance is at least a few dozen kiloohms. You do need high voltage to produce 60 or more milliamps.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
The only "shock" that I've ever felt was from a muscle stimulator. My friend got into a bad accident a few years ago and he has a few metal pieces and parts in his back. Overall, his back is pretty fucked up. Anyway, he has a muscle stimulator to help "massage" and relax his back muscles when they tighten up on him.

So, he brought it to school one day and was letting people play with it, sort of. It was just this box that had a dial on it that went from 1-10 and it had two nodes on it that were at the end of little wires, which were stuck to your skin. Anyway, he put it on my hand, just to show me how it felt. He turned the dial to 1 and I was like "OK, this is alright". Then, he turned it up to 2 and I was like, "OK, this feels kind of good". Then, he decided to be a fucking ASSHOLE and he turned it all the way up to 10. I swear to God, my muscles contracted so hard that it felt like my hand was breaking. I instantly dropped to the ground and was like "AAAAAAAAAAH, you FUCKER!!!"
