Hey all. I'm new and have a question about E-mule

Hey all. I have been a long time reader of this site. I decided to finally join in on the fun. For my first post, I have a question about E-Mule. I reciently downloaded emule and started downloading movies from it. The only problem is, when I try and watch the videos, it opens up Windows Media Player and has to "acquiring license" and has a popup from www.givemepink.com that asks if I'm 18 or not. If i click yes, it just brings me to givemepink.com. If I close it, it won't play the file. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

I believe it's a marketing strategy to get you to pay for a license so you can view the video. I don't know anything about emule, but it sounds like p2p. If that's the case, then either pay for the membership, or just find something else to download.

Agree with Superfly. Either it's a marketing ploy, or the people sharing files are giving away members only videos.
With .wmv's, you've got digital protection built into some. Gotta be a member of that site to watch the clip.

Wouldn't call it a ploy.
It's simply a mean to prevent files from being shared against the distributor's knowledge or w/o his consent.
However.... the file format wmv (also discussed here:
