Hey, Newt Gingrich is one of us... or maybe not.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
With this being the second adult business that the Newt man was set to honor (after they paid an annual $5,000 membership fee ;)), I thought maybe he was finding his libertarian innerself. But I guess not.

Topless club owner: Gingrich group rescinded award
By LINDA STEWART BALL (AP) – 1 hour ago

DALLAS — Newt Gingrich's conservative group gave — and then rescinded — a business award to a popular topless club in Texas, the proprietor said Thursday.

Dawn Rizos said she was looking forward to receiving the promised "Entrepreneur of the Year" award at a Washington, D.C., banquet from American Solutions for Winning the Future, which the former U.S. House speaker chairs.

After all, Rizos is the owner of The Lodge, which was named the Best Overall Club in America last year by ED Publications, which sponsors the gentlemen's club industry's annual convention and trade show.

But before she had a chance to dine on lobster bisque with Gingrich at the Oct. 7 awards dinner with some 50 other business leaders, the honor was yanked away. The group apparently confused Rizos' Dallas business, which is legally called DCG Inc., with one by the same name in Virginia.

"I honestly thought that Mr. Gingrich wanted to honor our company because it's very successful," Rizos said. "Really, what's two more people to dinner? How rude!"

The one and only.
I think she has a point. Seriously, why not let them come to the dinner as well. Even if Newt doesn't honor them, they get to wine and dine with fellow business owners. Plus, if you need entertainment, I think they could help you out. What's an extra two place sittings at dinner anyway? Let 'em go!

Seems like a successful business that makes money by proving good service... and I bet Newt liked it, but has to maintain the "show" for the base back home.

When are the GOP going to realize their only hope is to embrace TRUE freedom and true American "conservatism"... libertarianism! Let people do what they want, within the rules, and thrive!

You can't have everything! Where would you put it?!
After all, Rizos is the owner of The Lodge, which was named the Best Overall Club in America last year by ED Publications, which sponsors the gentlemen's club industry's annual convention and trade show.

Surely shome mishtake.

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
I think this is another case of sloppy conservatives unable to comprehend basic details. I think Newtie wanted to give this award because he read Dallas, TX, next to the company name and thought this would be a tasty bone thrown to the redneck GOP voter base...

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Maybe Newt would deal with her if she was dying of cancer....no sorry. that is for his personal life, not business life.

If it was just one adult business, maybe I'd believe that the Holy One had made a mistake. But the topless joint makes (at least) the second adult biz that The Newt Man has honored within the past few weeks. The first was Pink Visual.

Oops: Gingrich sends ‘Entrepreneur of Year’ invitation to porn company
11:17 am September 12, 2009, by Jim Galloway

On Friday afternoon, the Web site of Washington City Paper offered the spurious news that American Solutions, former U.S. House speaker Newt Gingrich’s organization for tackling the nation’s maze of problems, had named a “porn purveyor” as its “Entrepreneur of the Year” for 2009.

Dinner, apparently, was included in the invitation.

Allison Vivas runs the DVD production/distribution company Pink Visual of Van Nuys, Calif., which specializes in adult films.

Wrote City Paper, sister to Creative Loafing in Atlanta:

Vivas’ PR representative, Brian S. Gross, is circulating a letter dated Wednesday ostensibly from Joe Gaylord, a consultant working for Gingrich, telling her “Newt’s Business Defense and Advisory Council” had agreed that she was deserving of the honor in “recognition of the risks you take to create jobs and stimulate the economy.”

Newt, a successful, LEGAL business is a successful, LEGAL business - and both of these are successful, LEGAL businesses! Do you believe in free enterprise or not? Hypocrite much? Take that crooked stick out of your neocon lovin', Evangelical ass and allow all businesses the chance to be recognized by your political donation scam. ;)
