I'll tell you what happened to it: it sold itself out. The idea behind the tour was originally supposed to be independence from corporations and major record labels, hence the term 'indie music'. However, after having worked literally thousands of shows all over Northern California, I can tell you that the Warped Tour is THE show with the most corporate sponsorship that I've ever worked. Every stage has a different corporation sponsoring it, and you have shit like the Smart Punk Stage presented by smartpunk.com right next to the Hurley Stage brought to you by Hurley (by the way, the chick that mixed monitors on that stage has some really pretty eyes), with the FOH tent for both of them sponsored by Kia Motors. So much for the ideals of rejecting corporations. I mean, how anti-corporation can you be when your tour is called The Vans® Warped Tour® presented by AT&T®, and the official label of it is Virgin®? :thefinger
