Lowe's. I can never find what I'm looking for at Home Depot. Their stores tend to be a bit shabby as well. Lowe's is usually clean and well organized.

Fuck 'em both. As much as I possibly can, I patronize my local, independent hardware stores and lumber yards. Home Depot and Lowe's are like the Wal-Marts of that realm... slowly making the world a shittier place.

That's true, but not too many mom 'n pop shops are gonna sell you an 18V Makita drill and driver set with 2 lithium ion batteries, and a carrying case for $300 bucks.

Possibly so (although if they're like Wal-Mart their low prices can become a mythical thing, where people don't even bother to comparison-shop, and studies show that Wal-Mart definitely does NOT "always" have lower prices), but I'd happily pay $320 - or maybe even $330 - if it was a good local store, and support the hometown rather than send my money off to Globocorp's HQ.

That's true. I also try to avoid Mal Wart when I can. Home Depot I usually go to because the nearest mom 'n pop shop that I know of is almost 30 miles away, while there's a Home Depot 4 miles away.

Stores are cleaning and more organized. Shelfs are well stocked unlike Home Depot.
