How do you realize your awesome if you can't admit it?

Lately from my friends, they've been telling me that I may be their best friend because I actually listen to them if they have problems and go out of my way for them. To me, this is what I've always done for them but when you become self-aware of being a good friend and a good guy in general, interesting things happen. Yes, I became cocky but I was able to approach women more easily, that was the main thing I noticed. I walked up to a random girl last night at a bar and gave her my number and she instantly said "I love your confidence" and that's when I said to myself "Where did this come from?" So I pondered my new-founded Tyler Durden and came to the realization that I am genuinely a good person and if I know it, so be it, is it so bad that I advertise this, is this something to be ashamed of that I can't be cocky over this fact? It's better than being so full of yourself with nothing to back it up (i'm looking at you Jersey Shore)

Sorry, rant over. Confidence is good. Being meek caused people to ignore you at best and walk all over you at worst.

But too much and you are just cocky and no one wants to deal with that. So be confident, but don't wave it in everyone's face. It's a fine line that you won't know until you've crossed it.

I still feel humble but now it is more just to play the part I've been known for. It's almost like I feel like "I've paid my dues, it's my turn" to take control
