Why not just roll your coins and take them to your bank to be exchanged for cash?
i actually had a good fight with an old bank about that. i rolled up some change very carefully and they refused to take it. most of it was quarters too.
i even asked for the manager and they refused it too.

Wow, what a bunch of dickheads.
I've never had a problem with my bank. I've given them rolls of coins and also just brought it in bulk and they've never complained or charged me a fee for exchanging it.
Oh, and there are a few really hot tellers working there too. I was really disappointed when I had to sign-up for direct deposit. No more going to the bank and cashing checks anymore.![]()

Side note: I've always wanted to go to a strip club with buckets of pennies and literally make it rain on the girls.
My time is worth more than the charge to count the change for me. :2 cents:
you'd make a great lawyer!
One thing Coinstar does do sometimes that is worthwhile is to charge a fee if you will take your money back in the form of a gift card. I've seen Starbucks, Home Depot, Barnes & Noble. That's worthwhile. Otherwise, is it so hard (or time consuming) that you can't count it? LOL
They don't charge commission if you get gift cards to places like Starbucks or Macy's, places where I have no interest in shopping.
How about some places that sell food????
I'm not fond of any of the places that they have gift cards for. Olive Garden, Cheesecake Factory, Applebee's, those are all overpriced, substandard diners that I have no intention of giving my money to.
