Honestly I never see it happening, I may be proven wrong. But I dont think any world leader is stupid enough to even think about such actions. Of course they may fire a few after they have already been attacked but to actually go as far as blindly attacking another nation would be suicide. All these actions are, are the last attempts of an old man to prove to the world that his nation is strong enough to protect itself after he's gone. Of course these actions are wrong and extremely dangerous and they should be told again and again that they are so. But you do not just go around bombing other nations when there is no real evidence to prove they are of any significant threat to you (... err .... that sounds farmiliar? ).

Sanctions have worked in the past and they'll work again, reduce the welfare the country get's from the UN and other such places. They usually come to a compromise.

Sanctions have worked in the past and they'll work again, reduce the welfare the country get's from the UN and other such places. They usually come to a compromise.

They won't work because the sanctions only affect the people, not the government or its leaders. Kim Dong-Fuckhole will still be sipping his rare whiskeys and smoking his Cuban cigars. The people of the country are the ones who will get fucked over with any international sancitons.

That is true. But what else is there to do other than bombing the crap out of the country? You arent really helping the people if you start a war with them now are you? And it would be a war if the US did decide to attack, these are what these tests are all about. To show the world how strong they are. And with forces spread out through the middle east I'm not quite sure the US or any other country would be up to the job of starting a war right about now.

Sanctions are really all anyone can do other than put pressure on the neighbours of that particular country to talk them into a compromise. But that would only work if North Korea actually had any sort of ally in the countries that surround it. But they dont. Sanctions are all we have. Might as well use what you've got and as I have said they have made the Koreans back down before.

I don't think a full-out war is necessary. All that's necessary is for one large-scale attack that takes out all of the targets that are used for their nuclear program. Then, when all their nuclear arms and missiles are a pile of rubble on the ground, I doubt if Kim Dong-Asswipe will still be talking like he's got the biggest dick around.

Similar things were said about the Iraq war - of course they didnt have the nuclear threat - but look where we are now. I wouldnt underestimate Kim Jong-il's hold over that country.

N. Korea made threat to attack Hawaii on July 4th because their ship carrying weapons is supposed to set sail to Burma to sell arms to the junta there.

US Navy ship did not intercept the N. Korean ship or go abroad to search (don't know the real reasons) but N. Korea stated if their ship is attacked, they will fire the long-ranch missles at Hawaii.

The firing of 7 short-range SCUD missiles proved they do not have the capacity to attack US yet. But the long-term implication is very serious.
