I think Zell and Chef pretty much summed it up.

Two words: Natural Selection.

Nature doesn't need people to take care of it, it can do that just fine on it's own. It needs people to leave it the fuck alone.

As for the people that hunt for "food", I take it that you are opposed to the cattle industry then?

Sorry, when you stop at McDonalds on your way out to your hunting trip, don't give me shit about how it's Ok to kill a deer because you are going to eat it. It was unnecessary for you to kill that animal since you have plenty of other sources of food.

So I say unless you live entirely off of meat that you hunted and you don't buy it from the grocery store and restaurants, then it's not OK.

Basically If you live in a first world nation and you are rich enough to live in a house, then you don't have any justification for hunting since you have more than an ample amount of food supply. I'd say that you don't even have any justification to eat meat at all since you can easily be provided for on a vegetarian diet.

Why? your meat is as fresh as its gonny get if you kill it and cook it !!!

Plus if god didnt want us to eat animals , he shouldnt have made them taste so good on a burger roll

Yes, I bribed and cheated to get this far

why what? My point is that there is already a surplus of animals that have already been killed and prepared for you to eat them. To kill more animals is unnecessary and wasteful.

It's kind of funny that you should bring God into this, since pretty much all major religions put some kind of restriction on eating meat.

Judaism: No pork, other restrictions on how food must be prepared (kosher).

Islam: No pork, other restrictions on how food must be prepared. Some vegetarian sects.

Catholicism: Bans consumption of meat on certain holy days.

Hinduism: No Beef, some sects ban all meat consumption.

Buddhism: Most sects ban all meat consumption. The ones that allow it require special preparations.

It´s not Ok for me, I prefer to just buy final product (meat, chiken, fish) and have nothing to do with the process

If you wish to live wisely, ignore sayings including this one.

Personally,I think it's way more risky to eat wild, unregulated meat that could be full of parasites and who knows what else.

I know that the FDA has a little bit of leeway, but I'd take that any day than something that I have no idea of what I'm really getting.

Sure it's as "fresh" as it gets, but that don't always mean healthy as it gets.

And just think of all of the surplus animals that are butchered for mass consumption that goes to waste.

Tip: install a spycam in your toilet.
I think it is ok to go hunting to eat it.... why kill something if you cant have it.

You make a valid point, but it still comes back to the fact that more that likely the overpopulation is our doing and stemmed from conditions that we created.
Partially, yes, the fact that we have preserves and other, "contained" areas. But does that still remove the need for population control? No!

I honestly rest my case at this point. People will make excuses, but it's a real, continuing need for many preserves and parks. The US National Park Service has, in particular, "learned its lessons" in "giving into" the ignorance of calls for a ban on hunting several times in the past.

Not at all. My father was a cattleman.

You go with me to any slaughterhouse, and I bet that's the last McD's burger you ever eat. If you eat veal, I can almost promise you that you'll never eat it again.

Especially if we're talking about deer, elk and wild boars, wild meat is nothing like the hormone filled crap that you buy in the grocery store. Now if a person doesn't eat meat at all, that's fine. But if you eat commerial meat, any member of PETA would rather see me take down a deer or a boar than see what happens to cows, pigs, chickens and especially veal calves. I've got a strong stomach and I grew up on a farm. But even I can't eat veal to this day.

Say, I've got a question. What if the deer is kept in a pen, hand fed and then slaughtered, just like cows and domestic pigs are? Does that make it OK?
