 Just watching the news, Hurricane Irene is on its way here. In freakin' New England no less!!! Time to hit the store and stock up on food to put in the ark. See y'all in 40 days! :rofl2: :1orglaugh

So what do you guys think about all the panic over Irene. :dunno: Are you worried about Irene? Is it all a lot of weatherman bullshit? Are you making preparations for the worst or are you planning to hold a hurricane party and go dancing in the rain? I plan on drinking ... a lot  ... from an undisclosed location! ;) :box:

Real men wear condoms!
I hope it fizzles out before it gets to me. I already had some tornadoes raging near me earlier this year. I've had enough of this severe weather crap!

I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
I think it'll all blow over

Stick with Freeones
Better go pick whats left of my garden before the weekend just in case. Hopefully it's a bust although we kinda need some more rain.

I have a small generator, there is nothing in my area that will flood. My only worry are a few large trees in my neighborhood.

A note to you, there is a United State's Statute that states that if you have reasonable fear of loss-of-life due to an "Act of God" (Flood, Hurricane, Tornado, Earthquake, etc...) you can flat out refuse to go to work; and not be subject to disciplinary actions. It's a tidbit that was built into the Labor Laws. So I say, "take a hike work, this storm gives me a "Hurricane Day".

I can set my own custom title!

But there's a reality that says if your boss is a big enough dick, he'll fire you anyway because he knows you won't spend the thousands of dollars to get an attorney to challenge them based on a US Statute.

I just love how no weather in the US is really bad until it hits the east coast. We could have 120 degree heat in the middle of the country for weeks, and there would be mentions of a heat wave. That heat moves east and reaches the coast? Weather Channel will create new theme music for it, and it will be known as "Hell on Earth- 2011". They will create fancy new graphics for it, and there will be 24 hour coverage.

Isn't this hurricane still Category 1? Floridians are probably thinking "Cry me a fucking river."

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
I still think this hurricane is Kim Jong Il and his folks out in the Atlantic on barges exhaling a lot just food for thought. Because you never seen the North Koreans and a hurricane in the same place.

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
I'm just glad I have an excuse to watch The Weather Channel and drool over Maria LaRosa.

Its now a category 1 - essentially a really big rain and windstorm. I've been through two hurricanes, one a cat 1 and one a cat 2 and you're only really in danger if you're standing out watching the ocean like a dumbass...don't know why everyone is panicking over it. I've seen less media coverage over a category 3 hitting FL....its only because its hitting an area that isn't used to having that kind of weather I guess. In any case, I'm sure by the time its over, people are gonna be like "uhh...that was it?" lol

Sounds good to me! I've been getting the same advice from my mom (she worries about me!! :) and my friends. They said, basically, "Fuck work!"
