BC News' Sunlen Miller and Jake Tapper report:

If a teleprompter falls in the White House, does it make a sound?

Yes, especially when it’s the President’s teleprompter – or TOTUS as it is often referred to.

Midway through his speech on urban and metropolitan policy in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building this afternoon, one of his two small glass prompters came crashing down, hitting the wood floor and crashing in many pieces. It made quite a ruckus.

“Oh, goodness,” a startled President Obama said. “Sorry about that, guys.”

He then proceeded on with his remarks, “To pull our economy back from the brink, including the largest and most sweeping economic recovery plan in our nation's history…”

May I add that's the first time that I see Obama's expression/reaction priceless. It was actually funny

Slow news day?:dunno:

The president's teleprompter fell and broke...wow.

I think the bigger newsworthy question would be isn't that ABC News?? The same who are alleged to be among the legions cheerleading for Obama and in his tank? How dare they expose a story that doesn't glorify His Obamanancy.

Following on from this thread:
Obama's safety net: the TelePrompter

I thought we cleared all this up?

It would seem at issue is his use of the teleprompter exclusively rather than teleprompter sometimes and notes other times. Big deal. I suppose it's worth mentioning 2 things; he certainly didn't use teleprompters when he was waxing his opponents in the debates and in the 21st century we're criticizing someone for using technology instead of paper notes??

Arnold's rolling out a new program in California to replace the 5 or 10 hard cover books students lug around a day. In some cases these become outdated in 6 months to a year, so these are being replaced with electronic books that can store ten or more times the number of books students are required to carry. This will ultimately save California money and time when it comes to revising these texts and making available the content.

Obama is the only one to use a teleprompter so extensively??? Maybe he's also the just the first and I say about flippin' time. At least in the crush of delivering so many speeches in rapid succession we will be less likely to hear and see the leader of the free world come of as an imbecile as we have seen with the previous administration.:2 cents:

That's probably one of the reasons why he's POTUS and you're not.

Did you expect that he would expect that a teleprompter or any prop for that matter would come crashing down in the middle of his address???

What would been the appropriate response?? To not say anything and/or not apologize to the nearby press for a prop failure who may have gotten fragments on them???

Again, Obama's uses teleprompters instead of relying on just paper notes when addressing the public. Where's the "there" in this story???

You cut me with your remarks, what I should feel like shit now because he is the president and I am not? I think it was a very human moemnt in wich Obama actually had a normal reaction and probably held back some swear word, what you think that our goverment officials don't swear? it was funny I am not mamking anything else out of it, unlike you that come bashing right at me trying to talk me down and explaining why he uses the prompter so much. When sometimes some simple things in life is to have a laugh, it was a funny moment, unlike the fly swating episode. Chill relax...

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
Can you imagine the expression of the guy who set up the teleprompter? I bet he went whiter than David Duke's sheets.
