Too bad...but I'm not sure what the law is regarding gifts there but you could be an a-hole and make her try to sue you for it (Unless she has 3 brothers twice your size.:o ).

But if she gave it to you during the course of a relationship and not simply loaned it to you...barring any other factors, it's a gift and therefore yours.

I would add, evidence helpful to it being a gift would be if she has no accounts or files on the computer, she has one or more that she uses and never has needed it back since it's been in your possession and never asked you for any payment for it since you got it from her.

None of that is determinative but it would help make you case....if you actually give a shit to take it that far.
