Oh, and btw...in France, while it's true about them having chip on their CCs, most places will be able to accommodate non-chip CCs for now since a lot of tourists and a lot of the EU don't have them yet (though you're going to start seeing this more and more in the future). Also, don't assume that every shop/restraunt/museum will take credit cards, especially if it's a visa and if you go out of Paris make sure to withdraw more cash than you think you need because ATMs are rare. And when you find one, it always seems to be broken.
I only speak from personal experience here...it once took us 45 minutes and about 20 villages to find a working ATM.
Though in Amsterdam you'll be able to use your CC in museums, restraunts, shops, etc and there's a pin machine on almost every other corner it seems. Though be warned, if you have a Visa vs Mastercard you'll find that not everywhere that takes CCs accepts it.
