*Image / Gallery Downloader (And It's FREE)*

:wave2: In case nobody's come across this great bit of software, I thought I'd post a thread. It's ideal for those larger galleries you find with over a hundred pictures.

It's called DownloadWunder, and let's you specify a range of images to download to your computer. (Ideal for those big galleries, or if you can't be bothered to keep saving images out).

Just enter the base URL you're downloading from (can get this by right clicking on a full screen picture and choosing properties). Make sure it's only the base URL too - e.g.

(wwww.nowhere./images/nothing/001.jpg)

would be entered as:

(wwww.nowhere/images/nothing)

Make sure there's no reference to the image in the URL.

Then just choose your number range, i.e. 1-50, add to queue and start downloading. The software also lets you state if there are leading zeroes, eg 001 etc.

If you need to add a prefix, for example:

(wwww.nowhere/images/nothing/879-001.jpg)

then make sure the URL's entered as:

(wwww.nowhere/images/nothing)

And add 879 in the prefix box - then add to queue and download.

Takes a bit of experimenting, and my quick guide's probably not that good.

Anyway, check it out by downloading it here - it's free, and has no spyware that I could find.

You'll also have to install the Microsoft .net framework if you haven't got it already - you can get this through Windows Update, or through the links at the bottom of DownloadWunder's homepage.

So what's your problem ?????? The software's free, there's no spyware or adware (unlike most downloaders).

Well, I won't install it (I just can't bring myself to install the .NET thing) but the software looks fine. Great quick guide, too. No reason to overreacted, miss.

Okay - I think I understand now, must run your own website. This thread isn't aimed at hitting amateur sites and the like.

Purely to help people download preview galleries more easily - not hitting the legitimate smaller sites (I wouldn't encourage that in the slightest).

Up to people whether they want to use it or not - only posted in case anyone found it useful.

Certainly didn't want to get anybody's back up.

Why the nasty attitude ? I mean he has a right to post this if he wants , and you gave him bad rep ? For someone who wants to be so popular , I'm afraid this is a very bad PR approach . I don't think attacking members is a good move on your part .For whatever reason .

Sorry, even more confused now. This software DOESN'T download from paysites. That would be illegal and immoral - I don't know any software that does this, and I certainly wouldn't post if I did.

Like I said before, this thread's purely for those that want to download PREVIEW galleries more easily, rather than keep clicking on each image from the PREVIEW page.

If the thread's upset anyone else then SORRY - but this software certainly WON'T do anything like jenniebg's quoting.
Maybe you need to check the software BEFORE making any rash judgments.

I'm certainly not having a go, but please check your facts before posting. Thanks.

I'll put my last 2 cents in - the software link I provided DOESN'T do anything ILLEGAL. It merely pulls pictures from preview galleries. It merely automates the process of putting the pictures in your cache, then saving them out.

I've heard of fuskering, but never done it as it's ILLEGAL ripping content from paysites.

I don't mean to sound patronising, but for someone with such a strong opinion, why post a link like that. Doesn't make any sense to me, but maybe I'm missing something.

I'd advise anyone else NOT to click the link either - sounds like it might be in breach of Freeones copyright rules, as well as ILLEGAL.

OMG, you never even took a look at the software Dinalt posted. All it does is save pictures for you so you don't have to right click and save every single one in a gallery. That's all. Nothing illegal about it. You are making some strange assumptions

It can only download from legitimate sources, i.e. PREVIEW GALLERIES. As these pictures are FREELY GIVEN, I don't see any similarity between that and the link you gave out previously.

As I've advised - NOBODY should click jenniebg's fusker link, as I'm 99.9% certain it's ILLEGAL.

Downloading FREE pictures, that are FREELY given in PREVIEW galleries never has, and probably NEVER will be ILLEGAL to the best of my knowledge.

The preview galleries are freely given out to encourage people to join sites, as far as I know.
