Internet Pornographers

Those bastards will get this passed on an erroneous title just like that did with the fucking "Patriot Act"

And it only works because people are fucking idiots!

WASHINGTON — The Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection (ASACP) has penned a letter to the U.S. Congress, protesting its erroneous use of the phrase “Internet Pornographers” in new legislation targeting sex crimes against children.

H.R. 1981, the Protecting Children From Internet Pornographers Act of 2011, seeks to tie the online adult entertainment industry with the heinous crime of child sexual abuse — providing stiff penalties for criminals, but falsely equating legitimate businesses with illegal enterprises.

“Given the inaccurate portrayal of the industry within this legislation, we had no alternative but to respond with facts to counter this falsity,” ASACP Executive Director Tim Henning stated. “It may be an attractive title in an election cycle, but its presumption is flat out wrong.”

The letter to Congress outlined how ASACP research has repeatedly demonstrated that there are no substantive ties between the online adult entertainment industry and child pornography, stating that the association “objects to the malicious and inaccurate characterization depicted in the naming of this Act and believes that ‘Protecting Children From Internet Pedophiles’ or ‘Protecting Children From Internet Sex Crimes’ would both be more appropriate and accurate titles for this Act."

Remember, the goal of these zealots is to ban porn completely. If they have to use improper labels on the bill, then so be it. Using terms such as "protect children" or "internet pornographers", gets people that would normally be against banning all porn to jump on the bandwagon without ever learning what's in the bill.

So I did read it right? I'll never understand these idiots. If you don't like porn then don't look at it! Simple as that! Don't fuck it up for the rest of us.

Though I agree that there are plenty of people who like to use incendiary language to serve their agenda, in this case banning all porn in general...but do you really think that this is necessary to get "people that would normally be against banning all porn to jump on the bandwagon"? Being honest here, I wouldn't think there would be that many people in Congress that would, when push came to shove, be all that supportive of the adult entertainment industry (even to the point that they wouldn't care if porn were banned all together). I just don't see the industry as having all that much support from "the powers that be" to begin with...so, I wouldn't think it would take that much to get people to "jump on the bandwagon" because they are probably already there...I mean, I doubt too many (none really) would state that they have a "pro-porn rights" agenda/position in Washington. If you can name a Congressman/Senator who is openly sympathetic to the adult industry, I'd be interested in knowing who. Do they secretly like porn...I'm sure plenty do...but it doesn't stop them from acting hypocritical when it comes to passing legislation and/or voting. Is it right? Shit, I know a lot of people in the adult industry aren't treated fairly and aren't afforded the same rights as your run of the mill American as they should. So, of course it's not right or fair...BUT, it doesn't make it any less a matter of fact. The porn industry doesn't exactly have any people in power who support it.

See, many miss the point. I've found the more strongly one is against something, that they really shouldn't care about, the more likely it is an attempt to hide the fact that they REALLY love it! Just like I've found so many who are vocally anti-gays tend to be self-loathing closeted homosexuals themselves. Just sayin'! If something doesn't effect me, and nobody is being hurt...I tend to not really care...but that's me...I tend to be rational and reasonable though! :2 cents:

Being openly pro porn would jeopardize they're fucking oversize paychecks...god forbid we get someone, anyone in congress or even better yet as a president who has a pair! And isn't afraid to stand up for what they believe in.

The only ones I know of are the hardcore libertarians - and it's not that their pro-porn, it's that they, like I, believe in liberty.

That's why they get my support.

I agree! There was a time when I was younger that I REALLY was interested in entering politics. However, I have ALWAYS been to open and honest about what I believe in.....and I've never been a fake (you know the "when in Rome, do as the Romans do" type)....so I soured on the idea....and that was before Washington became as TOXIC as it is now even! The only time it seems that they actually "grow a pair" is when they are leaving and/or have already left office.....then they let it all hang out & are candid and honest. It's sad....but that's the way it is.

While I would classify myself as a progressive liberal Democrat, there are some positions of the libertarians that I agree with in the area of personal freedom & freedom of choice matters. Of course there are a lot of matters that I disagree with too...like the role of government, taxation, healthcare, etc. BUT, like I said, on personal freedom matters & freedom of choice rights....I believe they are right on target! Like I said before, if it doesn't effect me directly, and nobody is actually being hurt/harmed (though I guess in the matter of porn, that would be open to interpretation depending on one's standards...but, by my standard....I mean hurt in the extreme sense...not in a subjective sense)...then to each their own I say generally.

This is so ridiculous. I hope nobody ends up being persecuted.
Did you mean prosecuted? :dunno:

I changed my middle-name to Freeones
it's not about disliking porn, it's about exerting control over people. sexual liberty has been a major attribute of free spirits and free thinkers throughout history and as such "fornicators" have been prosecuted, exiled and belittled throughout history in many parts of the world under radical control especially of the religious variety...pornography is by far the most prevalent form of expressive sexuality as well as very graphic, especially since the advent of the world wide web and as such is far more threatening than swinger groups, sex clubs and the like...if they can make it go away then they can start forcing their anti-sex, abstinence until marriage, homophobic, close minded and sexist ideals upon the masses once again...:2 cents:

Exactly - and it goes way further than just porn.

Every time we allow someone to take away our liberties, we give up freedom and we loose control over our own destiny.

I can name thousands of example where we, as Americans, have given up liberties for a perceived feeling of security just during my life time.

Stop the wholesale raping of our liberties!

.xxx is a money making scam. Even the government advisers recommended against it but there is simple too much money to be made.

For example, a .com domain costs what? $9 or so per year. To the best of my knowledge, final pricing on the .xxx is still in limbo but people are paying upwards of EU350 just to protect their trademarks.

Don't expect to see very many of the smaller sites moving to .xxx in the near future.

Wouldn´t it be funny if all offences were named this way. It someone drops a cigarette on the sidewalk it would be called arson and if someone walks a red light it would be called drunk driving.

They did it in the eighties with music. 'Parental Advisory' and that shit. Frank Zappa on the Johnny Carson Show:

There are peple who employ the blanket of protecting children across their agenda, because anyone criticising it because who could be so heartless?

Just replace "rock music" with whatever their agenda of the week is.

Racing is life... anything else is just waiting.
One thing that struck me as really odd since I first registered here was the number of porn stars and producers who liked to refer to themselves as "conservatives"... porn fans too, but I'm speaking more about the people who actually depend on the porn industry for a pay check. Don't get me wrong... I'm not trying to paint every "conservative" with the same brush. But I haven't gotten the sense that these people have really recognized the differences between politicians who claim (;)) to be fiscal conservatives vs. social conservatives... and those politicians who NOW refer to themselves a "libertarians" (just because it's the cool thing to say now), but who, in fact, know little or nothing about economics and are really just Religious Right/Evangelicals trying to push a Sharia style social agenda on the United States.

So yeah, I'm baffled by the porn stars and producers who don't seem to recognize these differences, because (IMO) it sets them up to be like chickens who campaign for Colonel Sanders. Sure the Colonel liked chickens, just not in the way the chickens at first thought... until it was too late.
