I'm too lazy to set a usertitle.
If you read various articles from here:

http://topics.nytimes.com/top/news/business/companies/ford_motor_company/index.html

it appears that Ford saw the crash coming much earlier than any of the other "Big Three." Or, at least they made financial arrangements long before anyone else. It seems to be working for them, though they're still losing money.

Who is going to survive? I doubt all three, and I would be none in their current format. But I'd say Chrysler will be first to go teats up.

thoughts?

what the fuck you lookin at?
They may or may not have seen the crash coming. Thats irrelevant. The fact of the matter is, they weren't stupid like GM and Chrysler with their money. There is a reason they were the first car manufacturer in America and on track to be the only one left!

A woman is an occasional pleasure but a cigar is always a smoke.
They were the first to be rumored to be in trouble, I remember hearing years ago that Ford was struggling, and I think that is what's saving them now, they were the first to tighten their belts and get truly competitive with foreign manufacturers.

Whoever has been the most generous ($$$) to the democratik party aparatchiks will be the most financially healthy. Shit, the gumment confiscated almost all Chrysler dealerships in W.Va, that should tell you something.

Private ownership + Government control = Fascism

Thank You o'bama administration fascists !
Had the previous, and yes, atrocious administration tried to pull this kinda shit off, you dems woulda freaked but, for some reason, your savior with the messianic complex cannot be critiqued.

I changed my middle-name to Freeones
Ford was considered the weakest back in 2005. They smartly reorganized, refinanced debt, mortgaged assets and revamped some product lines.

They are still suffering with car sales still so low, but they have gained some market share.
They dont make better products than GM, but have done the right things to stay afloat right now. If car sales pick up they will be fine otherwise they might have to go to the government till in the near future.

(There is gonna be all kind of environmental - not just financial - restraints this time round, and that's the way it always should have been).

There have always been environmental restrains, it's just that output emission regulation is up to the states to decide. California is no pushover, let me tell you.

Are you suggesting that the emission criteria be federalized ?
If that happens, they'll (da feds) will have us all driving
